welcome to the hotel dreamwidthfornia

WHO: EVERYONE. Yes, even you.
WHERE: Stark Tower
WHEN: 2/1/12!
WARNINGS: the worst crowd control since Tickle Me Elmo was released.
SUMMARY: IMPORTS BUMRUSH THE PORTER BUILDING ONLY TO FIND IT'S BECOME THE DMV
FORMAT: WORDS

[When your character arrives at Stark Tower, they will most likely find a.) a metric ton of other Imports there and b.) the same machine in the Porter room that spat out their dog tags at them, waiting for them to approach. Lachesis will give them their new personalized communicators after requesting that they STATE YOUR NAME, HERO, but there might be the occasional insult! Possibly vuvuzela sounds. There is also particularly insipid elevator music playing in the background constantly, like so.

NOW MINGLE.]

Peter couldn't help the frisson of relief he felt as he spotted Tony looking just as on edge as he did himself. Not that he was going to admit to any such feeling of -- solidarity, let's call it; not comfort -- but at least he knew he wasn't just being paranoid.

He sidled up next to his former mentor and glanced at him sideways. "Technical difficulties, eh? The timing sure is convenient."

"More than that," he commented wryly, only looking at Peter with a sidelong glance. He almost kept looking forward, but he finally tipped his head slightly, to face Peter only slightly.

"Something is up."

"Well, obviously," Peter said absently, casting his eyes over the crowd for the thousandth time since arriving. He turned back to Tony a moment later. "But is this part of the something, or the damage control, d'you think? You know Her Twistedness better than any of us, I bet."

Well, he knew here quite well, but more of on an internal scale than exactly personal.

"Not sure," he lied. He had a feeling it was a bit of both, despite her warning. He didn't trust the porter at all. "I'm working on it, though. There's something up."

"You did say that already, Tony," Peter said, but he had other things on his mind than making the obvious quip. After a few moments, he added, "I'm thinking when she said our new communicators would be 'up to date,' she wasn't just talking about an unlimited texting plan."
liverletdie: (Extremis | Seriously guys)

He grinned. "Probably, but I won't find out until I can actually get one. They aren't on or active until we get them, apparently."

He even looked frustrated at that.

"Aw, crap." Peter slapped his forehead. "This means I need to rewrite all the family encryptions, too." He almost visibly deflated. "I guess ... it was high time I updated them, anyway. But still."
