tuesday afternoon.
Then again, Monet's arguably a more capable leader than Jamie is. So there's hope.
It's almost anticlimactic when he lets himself into the office and it's quiet. Rictor exhales and sits down at one of the desks, leaning back until he's staring at the ceiling. Well. What was he expecting anyway, Norse gods, clones, and timetraveling supervillains? ]

standing proudly in front of one of the offices, she flings the doors open to a pretty sad, empty room. it's all shamefully anticlimactic. but, from the corner of her eye, she sees that lone rictor-y figure in this ghost town of staplers and water coolers. in mere moments she's sprinting and landing on his desk in a grand flourish, knocking over whatever office supply bs to the groooound. she's an adult! anyway, she's leaning far into his personal space. ]
Heeeey! X-Force, right?! [ she gestures toward herself. ] It's Marrina.

after a judging moment!! ]
Nope. [ a bit sarcastically: ] X-Force is down the hall. This is X-Factor. Sorry to disappoint.

Rictor, I've got paperwork -
[ A pause, and then she stops and actually looks over at him. She's not smiling, but there's a hint of approval on her face. ]
Oh. Good, you're back.
no subject
Hi to you too. I'm fine, thanks for asking. [ He sits up, leans forward. Dryly: ] Got something for me?
no subject
You're welcome.
And yes, I do have something for you. Licensing paperwork.

tuesday morning!!
But she'd told Jack she'd make herself useful. And besides that, she wanted to prove to herself that she could be useful. So, she shows up at X-Factor HQ that morning and pokes her head in to see if anyone's there. ]
Er-- hello? Anybody home?
no subject
Yes.
I've been wondering about the extent of your powers.
[ It's not an introduction or an explanation, but knowing everything about her colleagues is important. ]
no subject
O-Oh. Sure. They're-- not all that great, I mean. My powers. But my aim's pretty much perfect, I promise.
no subject
That's good to know. But it was the gas manipulation that I'd like to know the full extent of. What precisely does it encompass?

Still, she needed the money. And this was something she could do. Deep breaths, don't freak. She pushes the door open and tries not to make a scene of it.]

Quite a turn-out, isn't it?

[Jess was pretty sure this wasn't the voice that recruited her over the communicator.]
I didn't think there'd be so many people, really. I'm kind of shit at the team thing.
no subject
But why not try new things?

tuesday afternoon and open;
Investigations seemed like something he might be good at. Even though he didn't have any practical experience, he felt his abilities would work well for it... He was much better at tracking than fighting anyway. Besides, he needed the money, and this seemed just about the only thing that he was qualified for that was in any way meaningful.
Didn't mean he wasn't nervous, though, and he might a pregamed at the bar before showing up at the office... Just to help him relax.]

Finally, she slowly eases into the room. ]
Hello...? [ A beat. Blink. ] Oh. Tom. Hi.
open!
He's a little late, so he'll take stock of the room and eye up the people who'd made it in first from the back. A few look familiar, but most are new. ]
