A reunion of sorts.
Who: Slipstream and Vector Prime
Where: Autobase, aww yeah
When: Sometime after Skyfire's post about Vector being back
Warnings: Robots who are now squishy.
Summary: Slipstream pays a visit to Vector, now that he's returned.
Format: Prose and things???
Slipstream hesitated slightly as she hovered over the balcony outside the Autobase. What used to be the Autobase, when there were larger numbers of Cybertronians in the City. Vector was back, and for some reason that she wouldn't admit to herself, that was an incredible relief. He'd become a mentor of sorts in the time she'd known him. A touchstone, someone to help remind her what she truly was when the flesh wore on her.
She touched down gracefully, then stepped forward to knock on the balcony door. Skyfire had said to contact Vector first, but. This was easier. Better.
Knock, knock.

Was it a feline thing?
Startled by the knock, he bumped his head on the bed as he pulled himself back out. A curse escaped him as he rubbed his head, looking up towards the noise-
Someone on the balcony? He frowned. Who was...?
Giving Aurex a final coax and sighing when it did nothing, Vector got to his feet and made his way towards the door, pausing briefly at the figure.
...Slipstream, he recalled.
It was less than a second. He finished his path, unlatching the door and opening it willingly enough.
"Hello, there."
no subject
"Vector."
It was all she could do to keep her voice from cracking around the sudden tightness in her throat. When had he come to mean so much to her, even when they hadn't spent all that much time together?
The moment the door was open far enough, the femme stepped forward to wrap her arms around him in a tight hug.
"Frag, it's good to see you."
no subject
Clearly taken off-guard, Vector blinked down at Slipstream in surprise before slowly lowering his arms, and wrapping them around her form.
He's a bit surprised to feel himself smiling, but he is. He...missed her, even though he wasn't truly aware of it. It's an odd feeling.
"I suppose I'm a bit late in announcing my return."
no subject
Stronger than she looked, Slipstream tightened her arms around him fiercely before letting go so she could step back and punch him (lightly) on the shoulder.
"You are, but I'll forgive you this once," she growled half-heartedly. And then swooped in for another hug.
"Next time I won't be so nice."
no subject
Humbling.
"Upon my honor, it won't happen again...!"
no subject
"I'll hold you to that, you know."
A pause.
"May I come in, hm?"
no subject
He stepped aside at her request, the action speaking loudly enough, if not the gesture that followed it.
no subject
Slipstream turned to arch an eyebrow at him.
"How long have you been back?"
no subject
That, and coping with being practically deaf, blind, and dumb. Powers returning - any power, but his senses first - had been a relief. Crippled he still may be, but at least he can feel the world properly.
If not...more so, than he recalls before.
"It took time," he says simply.
no subject
She sighed and looked away again, crossing her arms. Somehow it was easier to admit things when she wasn't looking at him.
"Seems like my worry was not misplaced. Do you know what happened?"
no subject
"I believe I died," Vector answers simply. There's no shame in admitting it, at least none that he feels. "I died, lived another lifetime, and then...was here, again."
no subject
Was this how Autobots felt when something important to them was threatened? No, that was a thought for another time.
It turned out to be a good thing that the femme was faced away from him; while he would certainly notice the muscles tightening across her shoulders and back, the brightly flashing eyes and telltale purple haze around her clenched hands were hidden.
Or so she hoped.
"Died."
Yep. Even though she tried to keep that rage from her tone, it probably bled through. So she opted to add something else.
"No wonder it took time to re-acclimate."
no subject
...he commented on none of this. Not yet.
"Death was not so jarring as having lived in exile for so long, and then returning to this world," he clarified.
no subject
Knowing he'd probably noticed her posture, Slipstream forced herself to relax, unclenching her hands and letting them drop to her sides.
Intellectually, she guessed that he was far, far older than her previous estimates. But curiosity killed the Seeker, and all.
no subject
"...longer than you could imagine."
More likely than not, at least.
no subject
processorbrain around."And suddenly being organic again and remembering things must be disconcerting, hm? Not that I'm not pleased to see you again."
no subject
"Being organic again, and not being able to tell if there's a world outside your window after all."
Other than getting up manually to look, and even then- is there a world past that?
no subject
"Your abilities took time to return?"
Ugh. She'd better make sure to avoid dying here, being grounded again would be terrible. Why, she'd have to take the subway to work instead of flying.
no subject
"They seem a bit...different, than I remember, as well. Remember from the City, that is. And yet, my memories before the City - or after, from whatever time frame you look at it...it is a strange twist of the two."
A pause.
"Perhaps the Porter saw fit to change this form to match my new experiences. I do not know, and I have little way of finding out."
no subject
She flashed him a wicked little smile with the question.
"I do believe I could use more instruction in Cybertronian aerial dance forms, after all."
no subject
And then Vector, in turns, smiles - but a little ruefully. He...remembers. And yet.
"It's been a very long time since I danced," he admits apologetically.
no subject
"Things are more clear in the sky. Want to ride the wind a bit?" Her head tilted back toward the balcony door invitingly.
no subject
"Perhaps it wouldn't be a poor idea."
It's not as though Aurex is coming out anytime soon, he thinks, giving a glance over his shoulder. True enough, the feline's still nowhere in sight - likely still under the bad.
no subject
no subject
"I suppose."
It would be good to test himself in it once more. After a moment, he reaches to take that hand, and let himself be led.
