beneath the black, the sky looks dead
WHO: THE VOID and YOU?
WHERE: Around the City and the Brooklyn Bridge
WHEN: Sunday, 8/2
WARNINGS: Violence, death, chaos
SUMMARY: The Sentry loses control.
FORMAT: Quick.
[ There was no abrupt revelation, no struggle; when Robert Reynolds had opened his eyes that day, the Sentry was simply nowhere to be found. He'd flown from the mansion into the sky, a poisonous oily creature wearing Bob's skin and the Sentry's clothes until even that began to shed. Red eyes and an aura like fire and toxic ash, sharp tendrils coiling out behind and around him like sentient shadows.
Years. Years here, trapped, ignored, denied. Bob was done fighting, and hurting; his mind went blank so that someone else could use his body to fight back. But it was his body, too -- the Void celebrated his freedom by flying into the sky, raising his arms and calling upon the sky to darken in deep reds and purples. Clouds collected and rain started pouring; he raised his face to the rain and smiled, before he dropped from the sky and flew cleanly through the Brooklyn Bridge. ]

Dave was the closest.
In a crackle of green energy she appears nearby. Seconds later she's on her knees at his side, hands hovering just above him. Unsure if she should touch him or not.]
Dave? Dave? Please tell me you're alive.

His head is still pickled in nightmares and his back and head are killing him, but he tries to roll over anyway so he can get up before that thing comes back--
But that's as far as he gets. Instantly, he regrets even trying to move, wings hanging uselessly on the pavement, bent awkwardly and leaking gold blood still. He can't really focus long enough to form coherent sentences, thanks to how dizzy he is from the impact, but he'll try.]
Yeah.
[Smooth, Strider.]
no subject
You shouldn't move. It could make things worse.
[She reaches out for him.] I'm going to take you to the clinic. [She's giving fair warning. Considering how disorientating teleportation can be, especially when unexpected.]
no subject
[Oh ok, maybe we're not cool or good or anything even remotely close to the two, as the dizziness combined with the fear stewing in his gut nearly causes him to vomit. He's trying to hold himself up, but his arms are shaking and he's really not doing a good job at being cool at all.
His wings hurt, he's so tired of those stupid things hurting, tired of them being broken and useless but he can't even think about that because he just keeps playing all of those horrid scenes over and over in his head and now Jade is upset and that thing might get her too--
Maybe the hospital wasn't such a bad idea after all.]
Ok.
no subject
This might leave you feeling worse. I'm sorry. [She doesn't give him time to let that sink in. One moment they're on the street and the next they're in the clinic's lobby.]
no subject
Davesprite doesn't fit well inside buildings, which immediately becomes apparent once they're crammed into the lobby with his eight foot wingspan. He's too dizzy to shift back, not that it would do much to try. Even with the warning, he's nearly passed out from the transportation, mostly unresponsive after they've stopped moving. The only sign that he's still awake is the very slight quiver in his shoulders.
He's still scared out of his mind.]

She mutters another apology and steps aside to let the nurses near Dave. Jade was fairly certain there was no way they'd be able to move him, not when he was in sprite form. She needed to find a healer. Someone who could get the job done fast and then they wouldn't have to bother with the clinic. ...Even though they were already there.
She closes her eyes and does a search for those with healing abilities. She's unsure if it would work but it is worth a try. She's supposed to be able to find anything after all.
There!
She takes a few more steps back and teleports away.]
Feferi! Dave needs help!

--Jade?!

Jade concentrates and her form becomes somewhat transparent, star filled sky around the edge and in the very center an injured Davesprite laying on the clinic floor.]
As weird as this sounds just step through me. It'll be less disorientating. ...I think. [In theory.]

*And she jumps through Jade! It's kind of weird!*

no subject
...wait, can he even hear me?
no subject
So the secret to getting covered in bitches must be to lay face first on the ground in a fucking hospital. Who else are you dragging here?
[He's hurt, irritated and scared, and now people know these things, so the statement comes out a little more frustrated than he really meant for it to. Jade was trying to help. He just wished it involved people he wouldn't be interacting with again.]
no subject
I'm sorry...I didn't think this fully through. [She really hated "flying blind". Things had been so much easier when she had the Skaian clouds to help her out. But seeing the future wasn't her thing, that was Rose's. But she'd been in a hurry and had hoped the clinic would be bigger.]
Feferi can heal you and then we can get out of here and forget this ever happened. [Trying to sound hopeful.]
no subject
So... where does it hurt? What even happened?
no subject
Can we not? I'm sure everyone is getting a great big laugh out of the feathery asshole spread out on the floor. Gonna pass a few drinks around and tell ghost stories, maybe sing some fucking songs while we're at it. It'll be great. Don't mind me, I'll join right in.
[Everything hurts, he's sure he's going to pass out in a few minutes regardless of what happens, so he's just going to hold it together and try not to throw up. His words still slur and they're a bit terse when he answers Feferi.]
I can't really see what's going on back there, y'know. Prototyped with a crow, not an owl.
no subject
Well most of them. At least two stay, acting like they're supervising over the situation.]
no subject
I can take care of the bleeding, at least. It's a start... *Her hands are beginning to glow faintly green!*
no subject
Don't--do that. That thing you just did. That's the opposite of what you should do.
no subject
((feel free to skip over jade until the healing is all done or whenever))

His tail lashes a bit ineffectively and he's finally forced to exhale a little harder than he would have liked.]
no subject
*Her hands leave his lacerated back, now moving up to the wings, hovering over the obviously broken bone.* Okay, this. This is probably going to hurt a lot. But it will get better! Really! *And then her hands touch those wings directly, more green light flowing from her palms into those bent appendages.
Dave might be able to feel bone knitting back together.
It's probably painful as shit.*
