i need a knack for keepin' out of trouble:

WHO: ImPorts in Venezuela
WHERE: Mérida, Venezuela
WHEN: October 15th 2012 - October 18th 2012
WARNINGS: Strong language is likely. Potential violence.
SUMMARY: President Pisani throws a festival for imPorts one and all! While this is a catchall log for the first four days and set wholly in Merida, you are not limited to those parameters. If you want to pursue your own logs too, feel free!
FORMAT: Whatever you'd like.

It was a beautiful city, green and lush. Morning mist locked fingers with older stone and quiet brick. Much of the populace lulled in the valley between two solid growths of mountains, cushioned in an ancient palm and electrified by the lively pulse of the crisp, rain-courted air. The temperature is brisk, chilly, but that shouldn't discourage you from enjoying the lakes and rivers breathing through the land. The city itself is equally crisp and its usually pristine avenues are ablaze with color; banners and posters and warm hellos. There was warmth everywhere, in homes and faces and hands.

Welcome to Mérida, Hero.

ROOM 20 (Piper, Bradbury, Mitchell) + ROOMCRASHERS?!

[ There isn't any possible way this could go wrong, right? Right?

In any case, Bradbury's been the one responsible for carrying most of their luggage in, and he lets the other two have their pick of whichever bed they want before he grabs whichever one is left. He looks around the room a bit askance the first time they step in.

So much for the perks of being the Mayor of the City, right? Who came up with this rooming arrangement anyway? ]

worst room

[ Well it sure as shit wasn't the Mayor, who wasn't happy with the way things were looking. Now maybe it had been wishful thinking, but he'd been hoping for some privacy during the trip. Being stuck in a room with Piper wouldn't have been too terrible, he could work with that but Bradbury too?

Fuck. His. Life.

After the long flight that had been City Hall's private plane he was more than happy to let someone else deal with the luggage, only armed with the two bags (which were filled with work) and those two bags were placed on the appropriated desk. He was commandeering it, because he expected to spend most of it either doing the PR circuit or working, and the less he had to talk to half of his roommates, the better. Not that he actually picked a bed. He'd prefer to not sleep the entire trip if he can help it.

[It was impossible, by the way, to sneak rats through customs. Even on a private plane.

He traveled pretty light, though, a medium sized backpack and a suitcase, so he had an arm free to help Bradbury, who - weirdly - seemed like a pretty cool guy for knowing Mitch (Let's be honest, Mitch didn't get out much and his main social tie was Nygma, who for all his class and charm was a gothamite).

Piper dumped the backpack onto the bed nearest the window, the better to sneak out later if he had to... glanced over at his two travel partners and mentally sized them up.

Possibly mentally drew a heart around them both in a teenage girl sort of way.]

So. No TV. Are we going to go out and be social the whole trip?

[ Bradbury's a pretty steady guy, but definitely not the type you'd peg to be in Mitch's social circle, considering who else it's made up of. He shot a flat look over in Mitch's direction (seriously, he could see the signs of his boss already settling in to be a fucking hermit, which was great for making it easier to watch him but not so great as an indicator of the tone it was gonna set for the rest of the trip) before finally claiming the bed closest to the door.

He gave Piper a look when Mitch wasn't looking, of the "seriously, you remember who we're talking about here, right?" variety, but his tone was decidedly noncommittal when he answered: ]

That'd be up to the boss.

I'm sure there's an itenerary somewhere around here with what things the import population is expected to make an appearance at.

[ He almost sounds weary. This is the guy who just spent half a day on a machine made of smaller machines, flying over cities filled with machines, and then over places were there were no machines. It was like power vertigo, and he really did just want to settle for an hour before he had to make an appearance. The hour would be well spent on some of his more palatable plans.

That's what he wants to do.

[Piper snickers] That means we're staying in watching him do paperwork, right? No thanks.

[whoops "him" talking about him like he's not even there] Sorry.
waiting: (i feel so much depends on the weather)

[ Bradbury huffs something that might be a laugh. ] You don't have to, but I do. Watching's kinda part of the job description.
viced: (Are you being serious right now?)

Hey, fuckers. Nobody's keeping either of you here. I'm pretty sure I can shit and do work on my own, just like a living human being.

[ He didn't exactly snap it, but the joking tone said pretty implicitly that he liked alone time, so they could be more than welcome to leave for a bit. Especially certain members of the room. Piper, he didn't mind so much. ]
