This is their second marriage, but it's their first real wedding since Pietro has constantly been reminding them that eloping doesn't count. Bobbi disagrees, but she's tired of being harped on and would rather enjoy the festivities instead. It doesn't have to be a big deal, she doesn't want a big deal. She just wants it to be her and Clint and the people they love and also some decent barbecue.

Also she wants Clint to actually show up. That'd be cool.

[ It was a beautiful ceremony, even Gil has to admit it. Still, he feels out of place in the Avengers mansion and the whole party itself. He's never been a social butterfly and it's certainly not going to change now. He hasn't even touched the food yet, not very hungry or thirsty. Instead, Gil observes everything and everyone from a corner, being his usual wallflower self. ]

[Piccolo noticed Gil slinked away in the corner. He wasn't one to force conversation, but the kid was friends with Kenzi. The Namek approached him, making his observation out loud...]

Gil, right?

You look about as uncomfortable as I feel.

[invoking]

[ He is a manly man at twenty-five, Piccolo!!

He noticed Piccolo from earlier, but again, Gil doesn't initiate conversation easily. He's a bit surprised to see him here, wondering if it was the groom or bride that invited him. ]

I'm not uncomfortable. [ Okay, that's a lie. ] ... I don't attend events like this often.

[namekian]

Same here. I don't really see the point of weddings.

[He shrugged]

Bobbi wanted me to come, it would've be rude of me not to show up. What about you?

[invoking]

You don't?

She invited me as well. [ And he felt the same. ] I didn't know you knew Miss Bobbi.

[namekian]

We've sparred several times. She's a skilled fighter, aside from a great ally.

[She helped him a lot with adjusting to the City, after all]

People like Bobbi are hard to come by. Clint is a lucky man.

[invoking]

[ He looks over to wherever Bobbi is. ]

She is a kind person. [ And tough, he'll never forget that. She's no pushover. ] We met at the shooting range. Her aim is incredible.

[namekian]

[He rose a brow, intrigued by the only thing that really ever truly interested him]

So a gun is your weapon of choice then?

[invoking]

That's right. [ He nods. ] Swords are also common where I'm from, though I've been using guns for a while now.

[hellionated]

[ Julian doesn't like wallflowers. Why would anyone come to a party and not actually party? That's dumb.

So when he sees Gil hanging out in the corner like a loser, and he remembers that they're technically on a team together now, he rolls his eyes and pulls up a chair.

And stares judgmentally at Gil. ]

Dude, what are you doing? It's a wedding, not a funeral. There's a barbecue, what are you waiting for?

[invoking]

[ It earns Julian an unimpressed look in return. It was awfully kind of Bobbi to have invited him, but if she and Fury have been observing him for some time now they must know he doesn't party. At all. ]

I'm not hungry.

[hellionated]

It's a wedding. This is what people do at a wedding. Unless there's a supervillain attack or something. You should be glad that hasn't happened.

[ He looks at Gil for a second. Is this really the guy who's going to be working alongside Fury? Julian doesn't know much about him, beyond that he's friends with Kenzi. ]

[invoking]

[ At least there weren't young women chasing after him. That would have had him hiding out in the mansion. ]

People have attacked these weddings before? [ That does not happen in his world. At least, as far as he knows. ]

[hellionated]

[ Gil has different priorities in life than Julian. That young women thing sounds awesome. ]

I don’t know how it works here, but at home? They’d have, like, maximum security detail on something like this. It’s almost traditional. If Doctor Doom was still around he’d probably have torn the place down by now. [ Said almost cheerfully. ]

[invoking]

[ Doctor... Doom...

He can't believe people have names like that. To Gil, it just sounds like something out of a bad adventure novel.

And Julian's tone... ] You sound as if you would prefer someone attacked Miss Bobbi and her friends.

[hellionated]

I wouldn't prefer anything like it. [ But he pauses...

Because Miss Bobbi? Really? ]

It's just what happens where I'm from. There's a good fucking reason I like the City better than home, Gil.

[professorlionface]

[Hank's been making the rounds, making sure everyone gets some cake. He's proud of this one, and he's not about to let anyone miss it without the chance to turn it down. And so he comes up to Gil with a plate and a form.]

Don't let shyness get the better of you, you really must try the cake!

[ So Gil somehow didn't make out earlier that blue guy he kept seeing around was more animal than man. At least from his perspective. Mutants don't exist back home.

He's looking the other way, but he raises his hand to politely decline before he looks at Hank. ]

No thank --

[invoking]

[ And he stares dumbfounded at Hank. ]

-- y-y-you.

You... you... [ His tongue flops hopelessly in his mouth. ] C-ca...

Cat. [ He's not dreaming. That is definitely a giant blue cat that is talking to him. ] Cat?!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH?!

[ Both arms go flying and he's stumbling away from Hank, screaming aloud now: ] Caaaaaaaat!

[professorlionface]

[Hank jumps back a foot or two, cringing. Surprise and awkwardness he's used to, but it's been a long time since he's met a reaction quite that extreme. After a moment, easily quicker than Gil, he does manage to regain his composure.]

Sorry, ah. You aren't allergic, are you?

[invoking]

[ And it's talking to him. While usually he would know this isn't exactly uncommon in this world with all the different imPorts, he has a hard time seeing past the giant fuzzy cat that is Hank.

At least he doesn't seem ready to tear Gil's face off with those teeth. ]

C-Cat...! Why did it have to be a cat?!

[professorlionface]

[At this point, Hank is a little concerned. There aren't any apparent signs of allergy, certainly not any of the worst. (Which would be awful, as he would have to somehow direct someone else to help Gil while keeping his distance.) But there is certainly some kind of very severe psychological reaction nonetheless. Has he set something traumatic off?]

...Are you alright?

[invoking]

[ He distances himself, but he hasn't turned to run off yet. He keeps his arms raised, shaking madly. ]

W-What? [ He's confused by all this concern because obviously all cats hate Gil. ]

[professorlionface]

You, ah. [He stands up a little straighter, rubbing at his chin with his free hand.] You're clearly having a very averse reaction, and I'm just worried if the stress might lead to worse.

[Would it be better if he just leaves? That might be a bit impolite, but it would probably be the desired outcome anyway.]
