ASTHENOA
WHO: The imPorts trapped in a video game.
WHERE: The virtual world of Asthenoa.
WHEN: 10AM August 26th to 11PM August 31st.
WARNINGS: Violence and fighting. Alert me of anything else for updates.
SUMMARY: A comedy of errors: imPorts are trapped in a Vulcanus-made video game.
FORMAT: As you like it.
Asthenoa is a land set on lush rolling hills under a bright blue sky eternally streaked with clouds. The only celestial variance comes during the nightly setting, where an eternally yellow full moon partially hides behind those clouds. The people of Asthenoa may be human, or elven, or dwarven, or they may have animalistic features, but none of that is of great social concern. Asthenoa has always been this way. The heart of the land is a medieval town set upon one of the highest hills, and the middle of that town sits a majestic stone castle. The busiest part of the town is the center, which hosts the marketplace. There you can buy necessities, or meet the blacksmith and other artisans at their working studios. Beyond the artisanal studios are the taverns and the inns.
Beyond the cheerier inns is a place called The Shriveled Shrike. If you head to the second floor and knock on the third room door thrice and rub your knee against the handle once, it will magically open and expose to you a staircase. People of the Rogue class know this inherently.
The staircase is five flights long. It leads to a black market in a mile long, mile wide underground bunker, where gambling and other darker magicks are indulged. You might meet a necromancer or three. You might run into trouble.
If you were to step out beyond the town, you would have to cross a moat via the drawbridge. It’s always closed up at nighttime, you can only pass during the day.
Beyond the moat (where serpents might swim) is a hilly pasture. Beyond the pasture is an enchanted forest. Strange things happen in these gnarled woods – this is where mystical creatures lurk. Acres of dark wood house sparkling lights and floating orbs and very unusual flora. The fauna includes many mythical beings, including centaurs and fairies and griffins. There could be even more hidden within secret caves or pools of darkening water.
You feel the need to venture past this alluring wood. You feel it deeply.

FOR RIN
At this point, he's covered in numerous vile things: blood, humanoid guts, insectoid guts, and squashed pumpkins. He's been tromping through the woods, and now through this labyrinth, for days while clad in heavy platemail and lacking superstrength.
He leans heavily against the wall of the passageway to recover from his latest fight, and at the last moment, he remembers to put his helm securely back on.
It's a good thing, too, because seconds later, he hears someone approaching. ]
butterfies because lbr rin is a vampire okay
They're trying to suck my blood!
[ Once she recognizes the familiar armor, she's diving right back into the spot he once held her in. The guy's protected her from pixies already, why not blood-sucking butterflies? ]
no subject
One arm stays around her, while the other lifts to swat at the butterflies. Despite their sharp butterfly teeth and their great size, they can't really do a whole lot to him. He is, after all, in full plate armor. It's gotta be good for something.
Still, they keep coming. ]
no subject
Make them go away! Please.

Archer swings his sword at the vampiric butterflies. A broadsword isn't really meant for fighting insects, even ones the size of a person's hand, but he does his best. Rin is asking him to.
A couple of them fall, sliced in two or crushed. The others keep battering against his armor, trying to get at his and Rin's flesh. ]
no subject
[ Opening her eyes, they dart around in an attempt to follow a couple of them as if she could help somehow. She's completely useless unless she transforms and even then it was more of a hindrance due to a lack of experience. How is she expected to try to bite someone if she's never bitten anyone before? ]
Ugh--this is so annoying. Why couldn't I have been a fighter?!
no subject
Finally, the last one falls, crushed by his sword. ]
no subject
This is the second time you've...
[ Come to her aid? Is this what its like to be in a city of heroes, she wonders. A place where if she was unable to fight, that someone else would swoop in?
A world where she doesn't have to fight for herself. She should be angry over this loss of control, but as of this moment it feels right to take comfort in it. ]
no subject
And he crouches, not quite shaking her off yet, to pick up something on the floor. It's a wing of a fallen butterfly--no, it started out that way, but as he picks it up, it rustles in his hand and falls over his gauntlet like silk.
He should give this to Rin now while he has the chance, he thinks. ]
no subject
[ Why does she have to keep thanking this person? Is she scared he'll stop coming to her rescue the moment that she does?
She's not exactly paying attention to what he's doing, but out of the corner of her eye she catches the color of the fabric. ]
I should really get on my way.
no subject
But it's too late. Light overcomes him, and he simply fades out of existence.
Level up? ]
