[In a perfect world, Spidey would be taking Val over to Aunt May's for wheatcakes, but as he has yet to find a suitable substitute wheatcake among the City's culinary offerings, pie it is. When in doubt for what to do with a three-year-old, the best idea is to feed them massive quantities of sugar, right?]

[Plus a fat extra cushion for Val's chair, in lieu of a phone book. This, Minako props conspicuously but otherwise without comment in the seat next to Val's when she comes back with their orders, figuring that anyone smart enough to be doing whatever the heck Val's doing is probably also smart enough to figure out what it's for and decide for herself if she wants it.]

Val, want anything? No soda. [He glances at her, then flicks his gaze down to the placemat. Upside-down reading is a skill well-cultivated if you're a web-slinging superhero, and most of it he can parse immediately. The rest, he'll wait to ask about until after Minako leaves.]
