Opportunity Strikes

Who: The Brucolac, Uther Doul, and anyone who wants to come calling
Where: A warehouse in the docks, Northern District
When: The nights after the Joker's explode-a-bus
Warnings: Uhm. Vampire?
Summary: Some people fight crime by punching it. The Brucolac has his own methods.
Format: Paragraph, mostly.

After the Joker's attack, the Brucolac moves more openly in the North. The loss of many of the city's major mafiosos had created a power gap, one which the vampir was eager to seize before the crime bosses were replaced by more crime bosses, or worse, the Joker himself. The crime world is awash in shock and fear, and fear is something the vampir understands very well.

Anger, grief and fear makes some men sloppy. Easy to find. These are the reckless men, and the Brucolac sorts through them. The cruel are disabled and sent to the prison that serves the area. The merely-misled are given to Doul. The stupid are scared shitless and released to flee for their lives - and to spread the story that the Brucolac is looking for mob-men, is talking to them, is angry with the Joker. Where he can be found. Rumors fly.

Then the smart mobsters start sending out feelers. Sniffing around. The vampir sends their men back to them terrified and full of awe, and carrying negotiation of safe passage for a meeting. Hopefully, most will be smart enough to arrange for private meetings and don't just drive their towncars right to the damned docks, but young men are stupid, so who knows.

Slowly, the Brucolac begins to meet with the new heads of the City's crime families.

((OOC: Anyone with their ear to the ground will definitely hear about this, and know where these meetings are going on. If your character has some...concerns to raise, feel free to drop by.))
