James couldn't help but stare as Stein turned the screw, and cringe slightly at the noise it made.
He was still staring after Stein stopped speaking and his hand was back at his side. He was thinking about what had been said as well, he was perfectly capable of doing both at once.
After a few moments, he spoke. "Even if he was a different version of my dad... I'd still like to meet him." Everything he said did make sense. James was still staring.
"That makes sense. I spoke to someone who's been brought here six times now, and there was even a different version of me here before." But he still might have wasted a chance to get to know his father, and there was no way to be certain he'd come back while James was still here, if he was really gone.
