"Okay," she said quietly, words almost eaten up by a nervous laugh. That laugh in turn disappeared as she tried to swallow back her jitters. It was very much like having an affair, and Bobbi was suddenly very aware of the sounds of the building around them, of the way water moved through the pipes, of the heater kicking in down the hall.
