[Carrie's gone long enough putting off pulling on the cape. She's missed enough patrols and spent long enough skulking around Terry's apartment watching old nature show programs. So for what feels like the first time in about a month, Robin's out again. Personal problems, insecurities, general guilt? She knows exactly how Bats are supposed to deal with those. Time to man up (Robin up?) and start the avoidance process!

So she could be putting to use her newest learned martial arts technique on some purse snatcher; she might be a fluttering glimpse of yellow above a streetlamp-lit street; feel eyes on you? Yeah. Could be her. Stalking. She might even be taking a quick break in a perch under the eaves of a building, if you catch her late enough into her patrol.]

[At first she'd thought it was-- well. Tim. Not broad enough to be Batman. The cape means it's not Terry-Batman. There just weren't many options left. But that was just on first glance, and she only has to change course and dart along behind for a second before she notices a few more curves than Tim had had.

So that just means it's the Bat that she hadn't actually talked to yet. Seen on the network, glimpsed at the Christmas party, yes. Met? ...It was on her to-do list. So she follows, starting and leaping through the shadows like someone with a death wish. Or at least a density-lightening power.]

[She opens her mouth to laugh at the girl, but...you know what, why not? It should prove to be more interesting than walking the suspiciously empty streets.]

Lead the way.

[Steph had spent many nights stalking Tim and Bruce; she knew when she was being followed, but it was alright as it meant she could lead this game to a location she was more comfortable with.

She stops near a rooftop water tank using the shadows to hid. Interesting how she doesn't realize just how well she's hiding even for a Bat. Standing still she becomes the shadow, but still able to see her little stalker]

[...Well. That's not the right answer. But to Carrie's credit, there's only a second or so of startled-dumb silence. But then her legs resume their idle kicking against the side of the building, the relaxed almost-smile falls back into place.]

None too close. What'd you do, anyway? Got any cash-summoning spells?

[...Oh. Well, there's only one thing a disappearing act that thorough means. She'd known Robin was there, and this was the area she'd picked to -- to, what, lose the tail? Call a confrontation? Probably not to attack, considering she hadn't heard anything about red kryptonite in the area lately...

There's one more gravity-defying leap that lands her, coincidentally, atop that very water tank. It's in plain sight, yeah, but the gig's as good as up anyway. She peers around, wondering which option it'd be.]

[And there's Steph, just out of the shadows with a smile on her face as she looks up at the girl. Cute, but no Cass, plus she thought the green panties went out with Dick and Jason.]

Cliche, I know, but I can't pass up a good line. So, Girl Wonder, what brings you out here without a Bat to keep you company?

[curses]

That should be easy enough to do.

[Oh, ouch. Did she really have to cut to the very heart of Carrie's issues on the first round? She ought to go back to avoiding people in this little Batclan again... But she managed not to wince, not even to react at all. If there's one thing Robin can do, it's lie. She keeps to her perch, staring down with her calm little half-smile.]

There's a shortage around, maybe you noticed. Too high a Joker-and-friends to Bat ratio.

[ The ensuing silence annoys Thomas; no, no, he's fairly sure that there definitely was something up there, probably still is, too. Who tries to be stealthy in bright yellow, anyway? Oh, right. His old costume. Goddamn. He raises his voice, taking an irritated inflection. ]

[ Oh! Her comm beeps, and it makes her lower her gun-- teen girls, always distracted by text messages, etc.-- to check who's just pinged her. Hey, it's Robin! ]

[Charlie can obviously picture this too, considering how good her imagination is. She'd imagined herself to be Batgirl for two months, after all! She seems to trace exactly where Carrie is pointing, and she can see it, and then she laughs and flops back in her chair.]

Now I wanna watch one of those awful sci-fi movies they have on every Friday...

[She's still and quiet a while longer, simply watching. But eventually there's a subtle shift as she pulls out her slingshot, fits a (non explosive) pellet to the pouch, and sends it thwapping into a wall opposite from Thomas of where she crouches. Gee, better look over there.]

[That gets a grin. Priceless.]

[She'll give her a second to read that one before lobbing a flashbomb-batarang. There's nothing for her explosive pellets to explode against when Abby's as high as she is, but the flash will still work.

And there's no Tim around to frown at her for wasting supplies.]

[She waves off the thanks with an uncaring flap of her hand. That's not why she's here (that she'd admit to).]

Well-- got any time now? It's not Friday, but I been stocking up.

[While there's a Robin perching, there's a Toph stopping some guys from holding up a couple in an alley close by.

Funny how overconfident doodz can get when their opponent is a small girl who looks to be blind. Funnier still when she knocks the guns out of their hands with a few well-placed flying bricks and then sinks them to their necks in solid pavement.]

[ He does so, quickly turning his head in the direction of the sound; he narrows his eyes, sighing aggravatingly as he sees an unremarkable wall. Gosh, he doesn't have all the time in the world. Microwaved Chinese just isn't that great. ]

[She's moving as soon as he looks, darting out from her cover and picking an entirely-too-casual perch on top of a low wall. She's totally been there all along, what're you talking about?]

[She'd been startled out of her perch by a shout and on her way to intercept that mugging herself, but the sight that appears around the edge of the roof of her building isn't quite the helpless victims she'd expected.

So she watches. Settles down on the edge with her arms around her knees and looks short of a tub of popcorn. And when Toph's done, after the nervous couple has fled, she can't help a grin.]

So... just gonna leave 'em, or what?

[ He jumps a little bit, turning and--woah, a Robin. He almost drops his bag, but manages to resist because this asphalt is just filthy. But, hell. He's in a good mood, being confronted by a Batperson or not. ]

[Charlie thinks about it for a long time for her...so three or four seconds.]

Who's playing anything? [Asked entirely too innocently.] Figure I was just passing by, and there's you, looking all around like you thought you heard sleigh bells.

[Bella is tired of craning her neck to look at Carrie, so she Apparates riiight beside her, also sitting on the ledge. Don't worry, it can support them both.]
