Vivi looked up and gave Keiko a smile. It was weaker than usual, thanks to the pain he was in, but it was there nonetheless.
He briefly reached out for the board, then decided against it, instead looking at Keiko with tears in his eyes, despite the bruising keeping one shut.
He looked so small and sad without his hat, bundled into a hospital bed...
