She doesn't need to tell him that he's been slipping. It's clear as daylight to anyone that looks.

"I'm fine," he insists. "I'm as stable as I could possibly be in this place."

A lie to both of them, but he's not going to say the right words to Waller.

"What are you trying to do? Are you trying to make me have an epiphany? Stop some 'self-destructive activity' before it gets out of hand?"
