Wishful thinking had to count for something, even a small amount. He hoped so. People learned and grew, and even mistakes repeated weren't always the same. Not when everything else changed. He believed that, mostly. When he wasn't thinking about his future...

But that he put aside, and took the tomato instead. He hadn't expected it to be as slimy, but he followed Kuwabara's lead and instead of picking at it, just ate the whole piece at once, using the heel of his hand to wipe at juice from the corner of his mouth. From the look on his face, he hadn't expected what he tasted; it was a lot different cooked. Still, there was a smile left once his hand moved.
