[ all the armies of heaven ] [ incomplete ]
WHO: Aziraphale (
not_occult), Castiel (
of_thursdays)
WHERE: A tea shop ironically named 'Heavenly Brews'.
WHEN: Thursday, Feb. 27th. Tea time.
WARNINGS: PG.
SUMMARY: A meeting of the Heavenly Host. Yes, there is tea involved.
FORMAT: Quick-para? idek what that means
Castiel stood outside the tea shop with his hand poised on the knob of the door. Behind him there was the sound of light traffic, the rhythmic clicking noise of tires over-running the same seam in the concrete, and overhead the muffled cooing of pigeons. Perhaps doves. He stood staring upwards -- paused for a moment -- his face pinched in what was either concern or curiosity (or perhaps incredulity), as he studied the carved wooden plaque that hung above the entrance way.
"Heavenly Brews," the sign read, and Castiel could not decide if the decision to chose this place (of all places) to meet was an expression of sardonic humor or simply ironic happenstance. Ultimately, he chose the former; the latter seemed much too passive.
He already had a sense that another was near -- this Aziraphale with which he had communicated with over the machine; a presence radiated from within the shop, new and yet somehow familiar. Aziraphale was the first that Castiel would find of his kind in his new existence and for all of the differences that had already emerged as apparent between them, there was still a foundation of commonality (of resonance and of purpose) that Castiel found immediately relieving. When he opened the door, he was met with a rush of warm, sweet scented air and Castiel could feel a flush spread across his cheeks as he stepped inside, shutting the door behind him.
Immediately, it became clear that he was not alone in this space.
