Even though I have countless wounds [COMPLETE]

WHO: Robin III, Robin (12yo), Batman, Batgirl, Blue Beetle, Impulse, Superboy, and Odysseus.
WHERE: Warehouse district and underground base.
WHEN: 1st March, evening.
WARNINGS: Reference to injuries.
SUMMARY: Team Awesome are coming to Tim's rescue.
FORMAT: Written-up AIM log.

The days had passed quickly - productively, even - and much had been accomplished. Slade had learned things he hadn't known, witnessed the prowess of his guest, tested the potency of his new formula and robots, all in the course of a week, plus a few days. However, all good things must come to an end, as the old saying went, and his time was growing short. The rescuers were on their way, the surveillance he'd installed throughout the surrounding area already picking up on their approach, and it wouldn't be long now before they arrived. Actually, he was impressed - he thought it would have taken them at least a few more days to discover this loaction. Still, there were resources here that might not have been present in the world they'd left, and honestly, Slade hadn't really expected to hold Robin for very long anyway. There hadn't been enough time to prepare for something that long-term, especially since kidnapping him had been a spur-of-the-moment kind of deal. Still, he'd made the most of the time they'd shared, and he now had everything he'd wanted.

Thus, by the time the rescuers arrived, Slade had already left, having vacated the underground base.

Blue Beetle was the last one in the group to arrive, not late but not as much in advance as all the others. Batgirl had told him about Batman's meeting earlier on and Bart had gotten the info from Kon. They were six in total - part of the Batfamily and part of the Titans.

"Sorry for being a little late, guys," said Blue Beetle, landing behind the group outside the warehouse before disengaging his wings. "All present and accounted for?"

He received several nods and acknowledgement from the people present. Bart was moving, restless, and answered quickly, "Yes. Let's get going."

Batman agreed without truly agreeing, "Be on your guard and don't touch anything you don't recognize." and Blue Beetle obviously straightened up as he talked, his presence making him nervous.

"Yessir." He answered immediately before turning to talk to Kon, "Uhm. So... Superboy, you wanna come help me clear the way?"

Kon nodded, "Yeah okay, sure," and looked at Batman to see if it really was okay.

The man once again didn't answer in a straight manner, "Keep your eyes open and let's move." It still meant he agreed.

And that was a good enough sign for Blue Beetle, who took a deep breath, "Unblinking, sir." and made his way over to the door before giving the handle a tug. "Locked. ...From the inside." He sidestepped for Kon, who would probably easily bust the door down.

Which he didn't, instead walking to the door and stating, "Allow me. My tactile TK can easily open this." (Bart had to comment with a grim face: "Shut up about your TTK. So not the time.") He let his TTK do the work and the door handle fell off, opening the door easily.

Blue Beetle looked at Kon, commenting, "Beats busting it down." and headed in first, switching his visual scanners on.

Batman took to the rear to watch everyone's back (and what they did), adjusting his mask to see better in dim light.

Dick guessed that Blue Beetle was probably looking for Tim's signature and asked him straight away, "Are you getting anything?"

Bart, not having anything to help him see in the dark, basically ran around until he found a light switch and turned it on.

"Yeah. It's--eah!" Blue Beetle squinted in the light before going on, "It's...down this way." He made his way towards stairs a little further, and then mumbled quietly, "How come I couldn't detect this before..?"

Dick looked at Kon and Blue Beetle seriously, "Take the lead in case there's sudden protection to deal with?" he told them quietly - only a suggestion, of course.

Batman, noting the emptiness, commented, "He's gone. Don't drop your guard; he may have left surprises behind."

Kon agreed with Dick and sort of took the lead with Jaime, Bart very close behind him, still immensely impatient.

As they were going downstairs, Blue Beetle muttered towards Kon, "Spooky, abandoned warehouses. It can't ever be like... a McDonald's or anything, can it? You'd think it would be."

"At least this ain't the sewers," Kon muttered back.

Bart decided it was a good moment to get pushy behind them "C'mon, move faster guys." to which Kon promptly told him to shut up. Bart answered by sticking out his tongue at him, annoyed.

"His sig's all over this place," said Blue Beetle, ignoring Bart and Kon and squinting down a hallway.

Dick looked at him seriously, "Just go where it's more present I guess?"

"Mm." Blue Beetle walked slower, letting the Scarab do its thing. Then,"There!" He started heading towards one of the rooms further down. Kon followed him and Bart zipped past him, getting to the door first and trying out the handle without thinking much about it, "It's locked," he commented, frowning.

"Of course it's locked," answered Kon, nearly rolling his eyes, "Here, let me." Using his TTK again, he made that door's handle fall off, too.

The door opened and sure enough, Tim was there. He was lying unconscious on the floor, very badly beaten up - though most of his injuries had been bandaged. He was chained to the floor by his ankle, and the room was really dark. Therefore, when the light from outside hit him, he started to stir, not quite awake yet.

Blue Beetle stared, not moving forward, and mumbled, "Oh - God..."

Bart and Kon, however, reacted. Bart ran to Tim's side and grabbing at the shackle, frantic, unable to do anything, asking anyone, really, "Get it off?"

Kon was by his side a second later, helping him get Tim free.

As there were already two people - Tim's two best friends - by Tim's side, Dick bit his bottom lip very hard, decided he wasn't going to panic and run over to the older Robin, and so instead he stared. Until he saw - "What's - uh. What's with the collar?"

Blue Beetle hesitated at the door a moment, then shook his head, hustling in and kneeling nearby, scoping the collar out, making sure not to try and touch anything, "It's not...rigged to blow or anything, so that's good..." Then, more quietly, he went on, "Robin? Can you hear me?"

Tim was regaining consciousness and blinked at them, "... Hey, Beetle. Guys. I knew you'd get here." He smiled a bit, which was really sad more than anything else.

Jaime smiled back in a very awkward fashion, "S-sorry for the delay. You're just.. really good at being hard to find, I guess. So uh - hang on. I'm gonna get this thing off..." His fingertip sharpened as he fidgeted with the locking mechnaism.

Batman, watching over the whole scene, told him, "Take that off carefully and give it to me."

Dick, still decisively not throwing himself on Tim, had to mention at that point, "Yeah, that's your Batman by the way."

The collar came away and turned out to be rigged up so that it would have injected some kind of drug into Tim's neck at a signal - a muscle relaxant. Blue Beetle, however, removed it without setting it off. Tim, meanwhile, recognised that voice and tried putting his thoughts in order, "... I - from when?" Still focused on the details, of course.

Blue Beetle took the unlocked collar carefully and got to his feet to hand it to Batman, "H-here, sir." Batman looked the collar over and pocketed it for later testing, "We'll talk about it later."

"Uh hey," Kon interrupted, talking to Tim, agreeing with Batman, "could we uh... really talk about that later? We need to get you out of here, man."

Tim was not tied up anymore at all and they were going to be leaving soon, which meant it was, for Bart, the perfect moment to half-hug him, concerned and stressed out, not hard enough to hurt, "Yeah, we have to get you out."

Blue Beetle half-wandered out of the room, peering further down the hall, squinting, "Robin, who stuck you down here...?"

Tim inclined his head and - half-raised his arms to hug Bart back, "Okay... I don't know. I couldn't identify him."

Dick smiled a bit at Tim, "We should... look around more and try to find information. Some should just get Tim out?" Clearly a suggestion.

Blue Beetle looked back over at Batman, "Picking up lots of hardware down that hallway. Might be some kind of control room."

Bart, not caring about the control room ever, concentrated on Tim, "Can you stand up?"

Tim breathed in and considered - he really wanted to say yes, in front of Batman and everyone, but - "I'm not sure."

Batman nodded and began walking to check the control room out, letting the others look after Tim. Batgirl followed him silently.

"It's alright if you can't, man. I'll just carry you." Kon told Tim after a second.

Seeing Batman walk away, Blue Beetle hesitated between following him and staying to look after Tim. "Uh...er..." He chose staying to offer any help to Tim instead of potentially getting in Batman's way.

Tim nodded and smiled at them again, "Please."

Bart stepped away from Tim so Kon could reach him and carry him.

"Alright," said Kon. And then - picked him up and carried him like a lady.

"There are better ways to get attention and have everyone to work together, you know," said Blue Beetle dryly to Tim with a half-smile.

Following them as they began walking slowly towards the exit, Bart started asking about a million questions a minute, all hovering around "Are we going back to the Tower?", "D'you need something?", "Want me to go ahead and get it?" and other inquiries about what Tim wanted.

Tim raised an eyebrow at Kon, but was in no shape to protest being carried like a girl. He ducked his head slightly at Blue Beetle. "Yeah, I think I'll take this out of the training schedule in future. ... Let's go back to the Tower. That's all I need right now."

"What about like...I don't know. We could call one of the healers on the comm? Can't exactly just go trotting into a hospital like this without having to answer awkward questions," Blue Beetle suggested.

"A healer... would be a good idea. Just - get me back to the Tower and then calll... um. Any healers except Kensai, okay?" Tim was sounding exhausted, honestly, but more like Robin as he went along.

"Amelia again?" asked Bart.

"Yeah, Amelia, she was great, I'm sure she could help again." Kon agreed immediately.

Tim nodded and agreed, too, silently and Blue Beetle backed out of the entrance to let the OT3 (and Dick) out of the room, squinting back inside, putting the stranger's energy signature to memory.

"Let's just get to the Tower and we'll contact her later. Is it safe to let her come to the HQ?" Dick stepped in, not having met Amelia before.

"Yeah. She's trustworthy." Tim thought about it for a second, "Other than her, there's Mamori who seems okay, but I'd prefer Amelia."

"We'll call her when we're at the Tower," Bart said. He then made fwooshfwoosh hands movements, adding, "Let's move."

Blue Beetle slowed down, "Huh?" He only caught the last bit of what Scarab was telling him and had him repeat. "Oh...Yeah. You guys go ahead. I'm just gonna be a sec."

"Alright, moving," Kon answered, still carrying Tim, who was clinging just a bit to him, and okay, they could GET OUT NOW and leave Blue Beetle with the Bats, have fun with that Blue Beetle.

Blue Beetle stayed in that room Tim was in for a bit until Batman and Batgirl started heading out. He then tagged along with them.

When Batman and Batgirl entered the control room, they saw that it was not completely empty. Instead, there was a smattering of leftover chemicals, drugs, and mechanical parts. Also, the Robin costume Tim had been wearing before his capture was folded on the chair in front of the computer. In that particular room, there was also a flashing light on the panel.

"Batgirl, take samples of the chemicals and drugs. We'll analyze them in the cave," ordered Batman, examining the mechanical parts carefully before even looking at the computer.

Batgirl moved automatically to do so.

Once he had an idea of the parts and what they were used for, Batman examined the computer carefully, checking it for fingerprints and any other functions before going near the button. "Be ready," he warned before pressing it.

Pressing the button started up a video in the monitor - a collection of random, particularly disturbing bits of Robin's incarceration, the highlight being the administration of electroshock therapy. It finished with a a clip of Slade himself, clad all in black, as he raised two fingers to his forehead in a mocking salute right before the words "Hello, Bruce" flashed on the screen.

Batgirl jerked into absolute stillness, reading everything in Tim as the monitor played. Once the video was over with, Batman glowered and worked on downloading it for later analysis.

They then spent time examining other rooms, but nothing of importance was found.

"Bring Robin his costume when we're done here," Batman told the girl. Batgirl stayed silent and just nodded stiffly. Eventually, Batgirl took the suit and made her way to the Tower with Jaime while Batman went back to the Cave.
