He wasn't trying to go fast, but he did 'push' off whatever he could, eyes narrowing slightly in focus as he trailed after her in a tight spiral. His own fall through the cloud pulled it with him, creating a contrail of sorts for a few brief moments before the condensation faded away completely.

And when he knew that he couldn't compensate for her speed, well - that wasn't too hard to fix. Rhisling came out, a calculation of distance made in a heartbeat, and then he was flying through and out of a spacebridge, distance narrowed between them with no momentum loss.
