WHERE: SOME DARK ALLEY SOMEWHERE
WHEN: tonight!
WARNINGS: probably not!
SUMMARY: YOU CAN'T EVADE BATMAN FOREVER, no matter how much better you suddenly blend in with the darkness. and no matter how much you want to, for that matter. 8[
FORMAT: para to start, then quicklog!
She hasn't killed lately.
It's not like she'd made it a habit, or done it all that much-- but since changing her costume, since all but coming out and saying she'd picked up Jason's M.O.-- she hasn't killed. The reluctance goes back a little further, even, to her conversation with Dick and the doubts he'd planted. She's still not sure he's right, but... suddenly there's a chance he could be. And while she's debating it, she recognizes it that it'd be pretty hard to un-kill someone, and not nearly as difficult to track a condemned man down again.
So she's held off. Crime in general is getting no break in terms of damage dealt, and there's even some permanent damage thrown in when a guy really earns it -- but nothing fatal.
That's the case tonight too, when, with a solid and nose-breaking hit to the face with her staff, the dealer finally goes down. He'd been pretty strong, and pretty sturdy, and it'd taken her longer than the usual couple minutes or so to take him down. But they all go down eventually, and Carrie-- Redbird-- plants the butt of her staff into the ground of the alley with a sigh as the guy finally topples. It'd taken two broken ribs, a concussion, a broken nose, and a fractured femur, but no one holds out forever.
She eyes him wearily, wondering if she's collected enough evidence on him yet to make a sentence stick. Probably not. He wouldn't be away for long.
Jason's way would've ensured he was.
