[Sherlock was somewhat of a wild creature at Rossum. Hired on a contract basis, the hours he kept were very irregular - and half his experiments he dragged home with him. But sometimes, sometimes, one could find him in the lab that Boyd had provided him.
His current experiment revolved around postmortem bruising - it was one that he'd carried out at home, but was expanding the parameters of it here. Laying out all the necessary data before he started trying it using people who had powers. For now it mostly just involved dead bodies and pieces of dead bodies, and hitting them with various things.
Luckily, at that moment, he was not abusing a corpse, but was in fact hunched over a microscope, a slide of bruised tissue under his watchful eye.
He was, however, around a corner out of sight from the door, so he heard his visitor before he saw him.]
And here I was under the impression it would be a quiet day.
