[ It didn't feel like anything had changed, not to him, but it obvious in how everyone else treated him that Max really had been gone for as long as they said. He hadn't even gotten to stay home long enough to do anything, just gone back and there was the Porter room again.
He paced his apartment, even dressed nicely -- for him, that was. A turtleneck sweater and jeans that were neither immodestly tight or shorter than to his ankles. ]
