As his words sunk in, an entirely new emotion began to creep forward into her mind. One of irritation, with just a smidge of anger underneath it. How dare he... how dare he judge her after what she was trying to do.

Raven slowly lifted up to her feet, lowering the hand from her cheek to let him see the slight mark that still remained there. Perhaps seeing some sort of flaw on her, that he had caused, would aid in this. It was power struggle, she saw that now. He didn't want to feel trapped, powerless, he wanted everything to be on top.

"I am hardly doing this because I pity you, or look down on you in any way. If that was the case I would be promptly dropping you off at the nearest hero base and having them patch you up, then condemn you for your crimes." she huffed in frustration, and stepped quite close to him. She wasn't afraid, there was a limit as to what he could do to her, and she knew it.
"I have selfish reasons for doing this, just none of them involve you paying me off."
