Oh, no. Bob looked at Midnighter a little hopelessly, trying to read on his face to get an idea of what was happening -- or had just happened. It was beyond an embarrassment, but that was a part of it. Everyone was afraid of him sooner or later, the Void always took them away.

"I-- sorry, I just didn't recognize this part of town for a moment," he said, still holding his head and smiling a little guiltily. "I guess I haven't been paying attention to where we were going."
