Bob's expression didn't change except his eyebrows furrowed and his lips tightened just slightly. He followed Midnighter's lead into the alley easily, letting his cape swish behind him and refusing, for a moment, to meet his gaze. The siren's blare was still shrill to his sensitive ears but he tuned it out, with effort.
