WHO: Two Canadians. Wolverine isn't one of them.
WHERE: Madison's place.
WHEN: After Lil's showdown with Danger.
WARNINGS: Angry wives or something.
SUMMARY: It's always the goddamn robots, k.
FORMAT: Quickie.
[ The first thing she'd done afterwards was run a scaldingly hot bath. She'd looked herself over, feeling a little self-conscious about it -- because she knew there wouldn't be a scratch or a bruise on her, even though she felt like she'd been run over by a car. But some part of her felt less secure in her invulnerability, less secure in the idea of "Diamond Lil." Getting beat within an inch of your life does that to you, and there were flashes of those memories in fighting with Danger. There was just something about fighting with something not made out of skin and bones. Something that aggravated Lil inexplicably about how Danger's expression never showed pain, how mechanical and calculated her movements were, how she didn't seem to get tired. All of it.
Lil had stayed in the water until it was cold and her fingertips were unflatteringly wrinkled.
By the time she gets dressed again, it's late and dark outside. But she can't sleep, not in her mood, so she curls up on the couch with the TV on some shopping channel, painting her toe nails a bright red with an irritated look on her face that threatens to stick. ]
