Hearing voices is a power?
WHO: Primrose Everdeen and you!
WHERE: All about the city
WHEN: Today! (the 27th)
WARNINGS: Inquisitive girl is inquisitive?
SUMMARY: Prim explores this odd "City," and learns the first of her powers (communicating with animals.)
FORMAT: Paragraphs to start, but if you wish to switch I don't mind. :)
Prim had learned a lot about the city, talking to others; she knew that people had powers. That in some places this City was called New York; and that City wasn't just another word for "district" - and it wasn't the capitol either. She'd learned that you couldn't take anything with you when you ported - and that Haymitch couldn't be trusted not to leave her big sister alcohol... she'd even learned that people could come here from different times.
She hadn't learned very much about the city itself, though. Or her own powers. She thought she could fix the former with a walk through the city - and the latter...
She looked up in surprise when she heard the first voice creep into her mind - food. Then another, and another - warm, cold, wet, food, food..., feet... food... Images slamming rapidly into her mind. She leaned against a wall, trying to sort them, feeling them fade.
"What... what's..."

Despite everything though, being out and about to learn more about the time he's found himself in and the culture of the natives of the world is still interesting to him, which is why he was out on the streets today, looking around at everything, paying attention to everything from the cars rushing by to the people who seem to be walking around in their own little worlds most of the time.
It didn't take long for him to see someone who seemed to be in some sort of trouble though, and headed over to her, concern rather obvious on his face. Anyone else might've just walked on by, but not him. He did stop a short distance from her though and tilted his head, pulling his communicator up to type out a message for her;
Are you alright?
He really needed to find a more efficient way to communicate...
no subject
Either way, she flashed him a small smile; weak - but hopefully reassuring.
"I'm fine."
no subject
The smile did make him relax a little, though the concern still remained as she hadn't seemed so fine only a moment ago
Are you certain?
He tilted his head, and then typed out something else.
Perhaps you should sit down for a moment?
no subject
"I could... hear something." She could heal them still, fainter; and at last she identified at least one of them - a small bird playing in a nearby puddle. She could't see how it could be talking - and yet she could have sworn some of the words were emerging from it.
Leaning her head against the wall, she closed her eyes.
no subject
Something? Like what, if you do not mind me asking?
... Oh. Her eyes were closed now.
He supposed he'd just have to wait until she opened them again then, which was somewhat awkward. But he wasn't just going to leave.
no subject
"Animals. I can hear them. I think it's my power..."
A very odd power, from what she can tell.
no subject
When she mentioned hearing the animals though, both eyebrows went up in interest, because that sounded like a pretty amazing power to him.
That sounds like a great power to have been given!
A cheerful smile then, before he typed something else.
Though I suppose it would be distracting, until you learn to control it.

The idea of getting rid of the polar bear or of returning it to the zoo, however, was inconceivable.
So Pherson whispered softly to the bear while it very much appreciated it's meal -- though the heat not so much.

"I've always wanted to know what they were talking about, though." She loved taking care of them; people too.
ooc: Sorry for slowness - we just moved. DX
no subject
"I've never seen one that big before."
ooc: Sorry for slowness; we just moved - everything has been hectic. >,>
no subject
Sadly, it wasn't like he was the one who'd granted her these powers and thus had no idea how they could be controlled.
When she spoke again, it drew a sympathetic smile from him.
It is good that you have gained that ability here then; you no longer need to just wonder.
I do hope you find a way to learn to control it though.
[ooc: totally cool! don't worry about slowness at all!]

Pherson was used to people being curious, and as long as they didn't harm his friends, he could be pleasant. He gives her a small, fake smile and looks at her questioningly.
"A polar bear?"
no subject
Hopefully it was as pleasant as hers had been?
ooc: Thanks! Internet is back. :D
no subject
"An animal. It's a bear?" she moved closer, studying it, and addressing it directly. "Hello/"
no subject
"A polar bear. They are supposed to live in the North, but humans take what isn't theirs."
Pherson keeps a hand on the bear as it sniffs the girl. Mildly curious but aware that this thing isn't for eating. Pherson has told it not to eat people, that would send hunters after them, as if they were the prey. It's rather uninterested in eating humans anyway.
no subject
"Can you speak?" she asked, tilting her head; and glancing at Pherson; it was an odd power, she suspected; talking to animals. She was still testing people's reactions to it.

Pocketing his communicator then, he looked thoughtful, before holding a hand up in a 'wait a moment' sort of way.
Glancing around then, he spotted a puddle and pointed to it to bring her attention to the water, before it began creeping toward them, drops being pulled off of the ground until it was in his hands, forming a perfect little bubble that he then began forming into various shapes. It was only one out of several powers, but it was the easiest one to show off at least.
no subject
The bear isn't sure how to respond to that, and looks to his friend, the man in the cloak. He loves the man in the cloak. The one with the pretty voice.
Pherson, on his part, frowns at the girl. "Are you talking to him?"

ooc: /fails at catching up. >,>

Pherson didn't realize yet she meant it more literally - he saw it as a child being inquisitive and friendly.

He leaned down then, to put the tiny ice sculpture on the ground before pulling his communicator out once more to type something.
I am quite fond of this power myself! It is a good power to have!!
And he really did look happy and excited about it too. It's... Somewhat different, from his powers back home, but he really did like them a lot. He always had been fond of water.

Armaros smiled happily then, just as bright as hers had been.
But returning his focus to why he had originally stopped up then, he tilted his head. Despite the distraction of talking, he does still remember that she seemed to be in need of help at first.
Will you be alright now, by the way? You are no longer troubled by their voices?

I am glad. It seemed very uncomfortable for you at first.

She was trying out some of her 'modern' clothes, too, dressed in a purple skirt and a light blue blouse, her blonde hair hanging down to her knees, drifting along as he bare feet carried her down the street. She was never going to get used to shoes, but she was warming up to the rest of the clothes, at least.
She offered a pleasant smile to anyone who happened to look her way, her gaze flicking about, which was why she happened to notice the girl leaning against the wall as though something was wrong. She had learned early she couldn't ask everyone if they were okay...there were a lot of people who were not okay because they did not want to be and she couldn't do anything to help them...but the young girl didn't look the type. So after a moment she adjusted her course to bring her to a stop in front of Prim, her head tilted to the side, concern obvious on her face.
"...Are you alright?"

"I was..."

"You don't...are you certain? What were you doing?"

I am sure you will get the hang of it completely soon enough.
He smiled, encouragingly. I suppose I should leave you to yourself then, if you are sure you are okay?

He smiled a bit at that. Armaros had never been a solitary creature, preferring being in the company of others and that has not changed, even if circumstances have. Besides, it's nice getting to know other imPorts outside of the communicators.
