Ed allowed Ling to pull him out onto the dance floor, trying not to be too weirded out by Ling's sudden foray into stately grace that Ed didn't have a prayer of matching. Most of the time, Ed could totally forget that Ling was of royal stock, but being reminded of it now just made Ed feel all the more out of place and awkward.
"Right," Ed replied doubtfully, glancing down at Ling's feet. He jumped a little when Ling's arm slid around his waist, as his own hand was guided up to Ling's shoulder and the other caught fast. He was not comfortable with such close quarters with Ling. Especially not after that stupid incident on Valentine's Day, which they'd more or less never spoken of again except for when Al teased them mercilessly about it.
He could feel the blush begin to creep up, and he gritted his teeth. There was no time for squeamishness. As they began to sway with the music, Ed kept Lust in the corner of his vision. She seemed to be chatting very amicably with Selina now, and Ed had to wonder what Catwoman thought she was doing. He'd have to grill her about it later.
"We need to get closer," he said, his brows furrowing. It might not be a very good idea, as it meant Lust was more likely to spot him, but how else were they supposed to know what was going on?
