SUMMARY: Jade's out enjoying the city after school.

[She drops off her books and stuff at home and spends a little time making a snack and eating. If any of the others are around she's more than happy to sit and chat with them. Or help them with their homework. Otherwise she's off to do her own thing. Like taking care of her garden or her pets. It's a daily thing for her to do both. When she's at home she's often out in her greenhouse.]


[She visits the park quite often. She usually picks a nice quiet place near the lake and just watches people and animals. Occasionally chatting it up with anyone around that wants to talk. Sometimes she can't help herself and ends up chasing after a squirrel. When that happens it's time to move on.]


[There's a local coffee shop she's become fond of. She's not a huge coffee drinker but their tea is really good. So she'll often curl up on one of the couches with a book or magazine and enjoy her tea.]


[Nearby that coffee shop is a little bookstore. It's probably the most amazing place Jade has ever seen. The books are practically piled to the ceiling and she can spend hours just rummaging through the stacks. It's probably where she's spends most of her time when out.]

<sub>( He's walking his rather large, black dog in the park like he does most days. Damian only idly observes the crowd and various passersby; he doesn't much care to engage any of them. Praetorian is a large, imposing canine, standing almost to Damian's shoulder. Damian himself has grown since being in the City, but his condescending sneer is much the same.

He spots her and isn't sure what to do. He's seen her around the network, knows she doesn't remember. That hurts, a bit. He's not in the practice of letting people in, and definitely doesn't give second chances. But she'd been his friend. So he approaches, with a nod. )</sub>

[Jade's canine ears perk up as her last name is spoken. She looks over in the direction of the speaker and smiles. Although the smile falters somewhat at the presence of the large dog. It's not that she's scared him it's just that canine instinct that she has is sometimes difficult to suppress.]

Um, yes that's me.

[xuffasch]

<sub>( How does he even introduce himself? He's not quite sure. Praetorian growls, slightly, and Damian tugs his leash. The large dog heels, but grumbles about it as much as a dog can.

Damian purses his lips and then huffs. )</sub>

My name is Damian Wayne. We were acquainted, previously.

[The growl causes Jade's ears to flatten back but somehow she manages to stop herself from growing back.]

Oh! [She smiles brightly.] Then it's a pleasure to meet you. ...Ah, again?

I'm not sure what the pleasure is. Since you have no basis and I take no joy in it.

friday afternoon; bookstore

[ it's the bookstore where kanaya finds her. she and rose are forming a book club, and she was trying to collect titles for their reading list. maybe something the faculty might actually find unobjectionable, rather than their typical reading habits.

when she sees jade, she folds her list and stashes it in one of the books she's picked up, holding it against her chest. ]

But I enjoy meeting new people. Even if they technically already know me. [She gives a sincere smile. She grew up pretty much alone on an island, of course she enjoys meeting new people.]

[dogwitch]

[By the time Kanaya finds her Jade already has quite the stack of books developing. The float along behind her as she continues to go through the remaining stacks of books.

She smiles and turns to look down at Kanaya before floating down to the floor.]

A lot of interesting books. I think I've just about found this whole series of books about talking animals that live in an abbey. They look like really good books. [She's clearly excited about this find.]

coffee shop :D

[Agatha certainly doesn't mind her now-frequent tea-drinking customer. She's been stocking hard to find teas herself, since she enjoys it more than coffee as well.

Except when she needs a little extra inspiration, of course.

As all of her ceiling-track 'bots are busily refilling coffees and drinks for other customers, she'll just take a fresh pot of hot water and a selection of tea bags over.]

Would you like to try a different one?

[Jade lets out a thoughtful hum as she looks over the available choices. She's tried to try a different tea each time she comes in but sometimes choosing is just hard.]

Sure. But I can't decide so how about you surprise me?

[drinkthedyne]

[Well, there are a few new ones in the selection.

Agatha smiles, and picks one, then adds the loose leaves from the packet to the strainer already in the pot.]

I think you might enjoy this. Have you settled into the City well?

[dogwitch]

[Which doesn't help her choosing any.

She gives a nod, ears flicking forward and back once.]

I'm sure I will. I have. Having friends that have been in the City much longer than myself certainly helps.

Oh, I certainly imagine so. I've made some friends, but there's nothing quite like those from home, is there?

[She sighs a little sadly. Had it already been that long since Tarvek was sent back?


...At least she still has the snappy new wardrobe he'd made for her. And the designs.

She carefully sets the teapot on its tray down on the end table next to the couch.]

I'm not sure I've introduced myself. I'm Agatha Heterodyne.

[dogwitch]

Having people from home is certainly more beneficial. But apparently there's people that knew me when I was here before. So I guess one way or another things would have been a little easier?

[Jade smiles brightly as she gives a nod.] It's nice to meet you. I'm Jade Harley.

[drinkthedyne]

Oh, certainly.

[She offers a hand to shake, and smiles brightly, the sadness gone from her expression.]

It's lovely to meet you, Jade. I'll leave you to your reading, if you like.

[dogwitch]

[Jade gives the woman's hand a shake, still smiling.]

Oh no! We can sit and talk if you want. It doesn't bother me anyway.

_{Definitely her. ( But that's said under his breath. )}

You've been... alright? In the City, thus far.

[dogwitch]

[Her ears give a little twitch and she gives him a curious look before nodding.]

Yeah, I've been doing quite well. Having all my friends here has made things fairly simple. [Whey they weren't getting hurt or getting stuck in space, that was.]

What about you? Are you doing well here? [She had no previous information to base his reply on but if he was doing well that was good enough.]

Me? I'm always fine. _{( He shifts, from one foot to the other. )}

In an Abby? [ she frowns, looking at her own books and wondering if that's the sort of thing rose would like to read. sounds weird enough. ] That sounds like it would be uncomfortable for her.

[dogwitch]

Good to hear. [She pats the bench beside her.] Did you want to sit? Or maybe we could walk around.

[dogwitch]

[Oh you know Jade. She loves her anthropomorphic fauna so these books are right up her alley.]

Uncomfortable for who?

[glowsferatu]

[ kanaya blinks, a little confused. ] The Abby you said they lived in, assuming the relationship therein is parasitic. If a more proper symbiosis, she may not mind as much.

Praetorian needs the exercise. _{( He nods at the dog. )}

But... you can come with us.

Is he named for the Roman guards? [Jade eyes the dog again before slipping from the bench.]
