It's pleasant enough a walk, really, despite the cold, and he walks a little slower than normal to accommodate Shade's pace.
Besides, he knows him well enough to guess that even as an animal, his pace won't exceed a stroll. A brisk walk is possibly pushing it a little.
After a while, he starts humming absently, to fill up the relative silence.
