Red Alert is neither an animal nor a people person

WHO: Red Alert, his pup,  and YOU
WHERE: Places with side-walks
WHEN: January 12
WARNINGS: Just Red being an antisocial dork. Like usual.
SUMMARY: Red Alert takes his dog Cobalt for a walk. Unfortunately for him, his dog likes people a lot more than he does.
FORMAT: Paragraph

Red Alert often felt like the world was out to get him. Not only because he was a paranoiac of the highest degree, but because his life just kept throwing things at him to back up his suspicions. In this case, it wasn't a matter of the universe actively trying to kill him, so much as irritate him and try his patience just for laughs.

In the universe's defense, Red Alert really was a very amusing sight to behold when he was upset. It was also very easy to upset him, so if the universe really did take special interest in screwing with him, it could hardly be blamed. Whether it truly had some sort of vendetta against him or not was unclear, but Red Alert was inclined to believe it did.

Especially in moments like this, where he found himself in less than desirable circumstances. Specifically, in the possession of a very large dog that weighed half as much as he did, who just so happened to have the strength (and the overpowering desire) to drag him towards nearly every person they passed by on their walk.

His dog, Cobalt, was the opposite of him in many ways (loud, friendly, generally pleasant to be around) so he wasn't really surprised that the big black and white mutt wanted to greet everyone that they came within five feet of them (since he himself wanted to do the opposite and avoid talking to anyone.) But luck (and the universe) was not on his side, and no matter how many times he tried to adjust the leash or avoid crowded areas, they always managed to run into (or in Red's case, be dragged towards) at least one person.

If he didn't know better, he'd say his dog was trying to force him into interacting with people. But, being a dog and thus possessing an intelligence unsuitable for complex plotting, Red Alert knew that couldn't be the case. However, as he was being dragged (yet again) towards another person, he couldn't help but think that maybe Cobalt was just smarter than the average dog.

Or maybe the universe really was just out to get him.
