Taking a second to think it through, he instead dug into his pocket and pulled out a small file (amongst other random items, like a paper clip, chewing gum, and about eighty-eight cents worth of coins.) The file certainly wasn't as flashy as her spectacular metal claws, but he knew how to use it to get the job done, and a moment later, he'd popped the lock and was holding the door open for Laura.
