You're just like your dad

WHO: Kirei Kotomine and Rin Tohsaka
WHERE: A restaurant which is hopefully up to the high standards of the Tohsaka family head (spoilers: it won't be).
WHEN: Backdate to evening-time
WARNINGS: glances at characters....
SUMMARY: A wild Emiya appears! What will Kirei do? Following this discussion.
FORMAT: I was going for quick and then I tl;dr-ed. Such is the fate of playing Kirei Kotomine.

[ He had picked Rin up without too much grandeur (and luckily without an appearance of the man who shared her living space). Given his shelter in the Church, he was left with a fair bit of extra money, which was enough to afford the expenses of appealing to the finer taste of a Tohsaka.

Tohsaka -- he was used to dealing with that name, handling the daughter as easily as her father, but now there was also Emiya.

He did not think he would ever see that name again.

The boy could not be Kiritsugu's flesh and blood. He did not look the part and the age was wrong; if Kiritsugu had fathered a child in that time, Kirei would have known it. He studied the man... excessively. The years could not match; the boy must have been adopted. Where had he found him?

Surely in the ruin of Fuyuki City -- the ruin of his dream.

For all his insistence on speaking with Rin, he was eerily silent now. Kirei hadn't eaten much of his dinner either; it had no appeal to him. The food could have been the best he was ever served, but it still would have tasted bland. His mind was elsewhere and occupied. He rested one elbow on the table, his chin cupped in his palm as he watched Rin. Every so often his index finger extended, reaching to touch one of the gold crosses hanging from his ear absent-mindedly.

He had dressed nicely for Rin, for mixed reasons. He stood out too much in his vestments; a priest drew too much attention, especially in the company of a young woman. He preferred to avoid such a fuss. In a more lenient circumstance, he would have taken amusement in wondering what passing patrons thought of them as a pair, and whether or not the idea made Rin uncomfortable.

However, his thoughts were otherwise consumed:

Shirou Emiya. Son of Kiritsugu Emiya. He lifted his head to look across the table at his current company: Rin Tohsaka. Daughter of Tokiomi Tohsaka. The two knew each other; they were friendly (as much as Rin could be). Combined, how much hate could these children have for him, after what he did to their fathers?

How much did she tell Kiritsugu's son? How much would she tell Kirei now?

At last, neutrally:
]

How is your dinner?
