little girl, you're old enough to understand
WHO: jenny quantum & zatanna zatara.
WHERE: central park.
WHEN: afternoon, sometime after jenny meets with larsa and bradbury.
WARNINGS: jenny's potty mouth probs.
SUMMARY: p.s. secondhand smoke is deadly.
FORMAT: quicklog!
[ she really shouldn't let it bother her so much, because it's not like her to be sentimental-- or maybe it is, and she just hates that. but her confrontation with bradbury leaves her restless and aggravated at nothing in particular, except maybe the nagging memory of his words and the feeling of how on her own she is now. normally, she might sit in one of her spaceship's winding corridors, watching earth from a comfortable distance while smothering her thoughts with cigarette smoke-- but even the carrier isn't a safe haven anymore, and she has nowhere to go.
her aimless aggravation finally reaches a point where two or three cartons of cigarettes hasn't made it go away, and fuck it, she'll show her face in broad daylight if she wants. she's tired of hiding, tired of sentimental bullshit, and it's a nice fucking day to do whatever the hell she feels like.
jenny makes no effort to disguise her arrival, appearing in central park in a burst of electric blue light. somewhere nearby, an alarmed dog barks and a flock of pigeons scatters. nonchalantly, jenny pulls a cigarette from behind her ear, pressing it to her lips and snapping her fingers, lighting it with another spark of blue. ]
