I don't know where you're going

WHO: NELSON GARDNER and YOU.
WHERE: Several choice locations, lucky you.
WHEN: June 15th - 17th.
WARNINGS: Will edit as necessary.
SUMMARY: Diary of a restless breadwinner.
FORMAT: Anything!

I. running
[ He doesn't usually jog on the weekends (if it's morning), or in the evening (if it's Monday) but when Nelson gets anxious, knowing that he's working toward a goal helps settle his nerves and mind somewhat. He's good at staying hydrated, but what he still hasn't quite mastered is juggling a diet (less of a diet, really, more just eating half of what he usually would) and the running on top of his usual daily fitness routine, so it isn't too long before he collapses a little weightlessly against a tree until he's sitting in the grass of the park, pale and breathing hard. He drank some water from his plastic bottle, trying not to be sick.

The things some people do for love fitness, man.

II. bookstore
[ Since the second installment of Nelson's book series came out, sales have been even better than before, and for the first time since arriving in the City Nelson is beginning to feel a little less worried and a little more secure when it comes to finances. It's a weight off his shoulders even if he isn't too happy or proud of what he's doing to earn the money, but he has to remind himself it's one necessary stepping stone among many -- once he's stable enough he can do his own work.

Possibly against his better judgement, when he's at the bookstore next he sits down opposite the books' (book one and two) tasteful display, curious who's buying them. He has a couple books intended for purchase on the table text to him under his elbow (old favorites he misses having in his collection, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Hero with a Thousand Faces and A Farewell to Arms, nothing dangerous) though he frowns as he scrutinizes the display before he finally opens one of his prospective buys to glare down at the pages, too indignant to focus on even his favorite passages. "Adult romance" indeed -- he has no idea why everyone keeps insisting in mislabeling his series' genre (obviously crime fiction).

Still, he'll be there for most of the afternoon, reading through his favorite books and casually people-watching. He at least has enough to keep himself occupied.

III. shopping
[ It isn't simple anymore, buying clothes. None of Nelson's favored shops exist here (anymore?) so when it comes to suits and shoes, he spends a lot of time hopelessly window shopping and admiring several hundred dollar leather boots and dark, pointed oxfords. Finally he makes a decision and goes in somewhere, motivated mostly by his need for variety with his footwear, and for smaller clothes now that his desperate dieting and exercising had finally shed him of a few of his extra pounds. Not all or even many, but enough that he doesn't feel hopeless. While he's at it, he may also look at some larger clothing for Hooded Justice, since he knows HJ won't buy anything on his own. May as well make the most of being out. ]

IV. walking the dog
[ It's evening and Nelson has yet another reason to get him out of the house, which is namely the German Shepherd puppy he got for Hooded Justice not too long ago. The dog is energetic but not so much Nelson's having trouble keeping up with him, particularly because he's already well-trained; they walk at a pace relaxing enough that Nelson's able to smoke a cigar with one hand as he holds the leash in his other. ]
