[Moving slowly is probably in his best interest right now. She isn't used to experiencing emotions so violently--at least, she hasn't in a while. Her time in the City, starting from her failed attempt at romance with Alex and her lack of action towards Jack has led her to accept that being alone and keeping things locked up is the best plan.
