His spine beckoned upwards, signaling his unperturbed interest. While Chilton was a psychiatrist deeply wanting for empathy and moral integrity, he more than made up his share in observational and analytical skills. Needless to say -- he found the subtle spectacle enlightening. Danger had, in their own singular conversation, rejected the very construct of authority that Chilton had pushed, and here she was again to challenge Osborn's authority. It proved a common theme for her, from his empirical data, that she did not fancy the dominance of a (perhaps specifically male?) authoritarian.

Father issues, he wondered. Or "creator" issues? Worth looking into, if it gave him an edge over the shockingly competent Danger.

"Is it so much an influence?" Chilton spoke up, biting into the tension with his icicle smile. "Or is your audience -- " he glanced at Norman. "More demonstrative?"

It was a nuanced siding with Osborn. Hannibal had warned Chilton to respect Danger's territory, which made his present poking all the more addictive. Chilton, in his own self-consuming way, wanted to see what would happen.
