I -- what? [He stopped in his tracks and positioned his stance in opposition, a breath of stardust spiraling between them. The word was highly loaded for Edward; he was a man shunned throughout his early life and called a narcissist throughout the latter. There was no room for love between those letters.

This wasn't the first time the question had haunted him. It was a growing fear of his, that he couldn't properly understand the emotion -- that it was some frustratingly elusive puzzle. He desired Felicia, he enjoyed her company, he thought highly of her capabilities. He was affectionate with her.

But could that define love?

Neither of us are the types of people swayed by marriage.
