Winters cold spring erases [OPEN]
WHO: Skyfire [OPEN] join in separate threads and just figure people come at different times.
WHERE: A small, broken down park /pond on the edge of town.
WHEN: Afternoon 8/27
WARNINGS: Probably not.
SUMMARY: Skyfire discovers something interesting to do with his powers.
FORMAT: Para.
It's quiet here. The park has been out of use for some time. And old play structure rusting in overgrowth. Abandoned warehouses not far off, letting their paint peel in the sun. The mottled sunlight casts it's reflection in the small pond, still water a perfect breeding ground for water bugs and a nice habitat for life, big and small in the city. He's been patient, watching raccoons, squirrels, birds and even a possum come and go.
Observing and taking notes and samples. Recording habits and prints.
Skyfire has ventured up to the water's edge, leaving over the still surface to watch water-skippers dance across the surface. He muses on it silently, taking notes. They can stay on the top by using surface tension.
Huhm. Interesting thought.
This is probably a bad idea, but he slowly stands, setting down his notepad.
If he can regulate the output of his thrusters just enough... turning them on low...
Slowly, carefully. He takes a hesitant step onto the water, first one foot, then the other. Much to his surprise, he stands. Wobbling for a moment, it's almost...slick. Though he's used to controlling this by now, it's weird- like he's stepping on ice. All at once he begins to fall forward, taking a few stumbling steps to correct himself. Stumbling turns into running and he's almost out of control- nearly falling until he gains his balance but he... keeps going. There's no friction to stop, so he slides across the water's surface, leaving ripples as he goes. His thrusters create just enough push to keep him just above the water- like dry ice on a tabletop. His arms flail slightly as he straightens himself...
Reaching the other bank... he braces one foot against a rock... and pushes off again, gliding back out. This time he turns himself around and takes a few awkward steps, pushing himself along like he's ice skating. It's easier when he keeps moving. The shuttle quickly decides this is... fun. Extremely fun, and it doesn't take long before he's clipping around on the surface of the pond, leaving trails in the water as he goes, holding out his arms and trying just one foot- then jumping to the other and turning around and going backwards. It's just like flying but... not.
He pushes off the water, skimming around the edge, spinning and even doing a few jumps- then backwards again. He looks just like a professional figure skater, increasing speed and the skill with which he moves in no time flat. When he thinks of it as flight- it makes it seem painfully simple. And with Soundwave's dancing lessons... he's a bit more graceful on his feet, too.
Because nobody is watching, he dances on the water.
