Edgeworth needed a break from directing other people, and also from the heat of the kitchen; it was all too willingly that he made his escape into the main hallways and rested by leaning back against the wall, his arms folded over his chest.

As much as he wished to use this holiday dinner for both his own distraction and the gathering of information, he remained nowhere near as social a creature as the rest of his adopted family would have liked him to be in his own world; Franziska and Manfred had been the ones who preferred to attend the functions and command the guests.

Still, it was a commitment from which he could no longer run, and he intended to see it through.

...Just as soon as his eyes cleared from chopping all of those damned onions.
