The song was something Ryan had selected carefully - because a song was only good if it had purpose (which was really Ryan's major beef against Xanadu, but this wasn't the time or the place to discuss that) and figured that if a song at least laid out exactly what was going on then hey. Maybe people wouldn't be as upset.

Besides, the song was practically made for him and it gave him the chance to do something he'd never been able to do at home - be a star. No Sharpay. No Troy and Gabriella. Just Ryan. Ryan who was no one's poodle and who didn't give a rat's ass about anything but the music.

So he sang, wholly wrapped up in his own personal rooftop party.
