At 2:56 Jaime got home from school, dumping his bag carelessly next to the sofa and flopping down. Rocket jumped up and crawled onto his lap just as he went to try and unlace his shoes, so instead of that, he reached across the seat for the TV remote and clicked it on. Another dumb movie on Comedy Central popped on, and Jaime started flicking until it looked like he was stuck on the same channel.
"Huh?"
He flicked back and forth once to see the corner logo change and realized that all the network stations were broadcasting the same footage--at the same time. Why do we pay for all these channels again? Disregarding that, Jaime blinked and sat up, drumminb his fingers on Rocket's back lightly as he watched the drama unfurl. Breaking news: a hillside logging camp was now a deathtrap as an early spring rain causes mudslides, trapping dozens of workers in and around the stations and in their trucks. As if that wasn't bad enough, a portion of the main building had caught on fire when a propane tank was damaged and caused a small explosion outside. Firefighters were having a hard time getting up there to bring water, and rescue workers being flown in didn't have the tools to pry out the men trapped in the station boxes and logging trucks.
Rocket meowed.
At 3:04 the Blue Beetle lost plain sight of the City below and behind, rocketting onward and following his suit's guidance system.
