Kaiba scanned the crowd while the announcement was in progress. Everything had been going according to plan. This was the culmination of what he'd been working towards since arriving. If this went correctly then this place had potential. If not...It would work.

He didn't need to pay attention to the video. He'd made it. It was more important to see the competition. There had been enough A ranked decks that this should actually be interesting. There were some people he wanted to duel, but not yet. Those duels would have to wait until later. After all, there hadn't been a tournament yet where he had not made it at least to the semi-finals. There would be time to challenge them later.

The first duel was a warm up. A battle with someone unnamed. He moved from his spot at the back of the crowd when he heard the first sounds of duel disks activating. It was too crowded here, they needed to spread out. To that end Kaiba started walking towards the water, trusting that either another duelist would have a similar idea or would notice the tails on his coat head this direction and choose to follow.
