Geddoe liked to walk the city streets until very late at night, familiarizing himself with the layout and memorizing the symbols on the signs. He didn't pay a hell of a lot of attention to his comm, though. So his first indication that something was very, very wrong was the sound of explosions overhead - far enough away to be muffled, but still happening. The second was the mob of people trying to break into the store just up the block.

Because of his experiences with Harmonia, Geddoe was not unfamiliar with the concept of guns, but the energy discharge he was witnessing from a distance was more like rune magic. Like his own, even. He paused to gauge the situation, and the lone woman attempting to keep the large gang of troublemakers out of her shop, and then raised his left hand.

The target of the Thunder Runner spell was the guy way in the distance, beating one fist against his other hand in excitement. That way, it would zap every other person in a straight line between him and Geddoe. The lightning bolt wouldn't be lethal at that strength, but it should give the group of attackers something to think about while the dark-clad warrior approached.
