The tunnel is instantly dark; luckily, Jono's gone in headfirst and he literally collides with Aaron, having propelled himself weakly with sound. He cuts the forward thrust and wraps his arms around the vampire cop's middle.

"Hold on" Jono grates, power leaking into his voice, and then charges them both with sound. Their fall slows, then comes to a halt; though the tunnel is dark, there's faint light coming from the bottom, where some sort of liquid slaps gently against the sides of their enclosure.
