[ Oh, the night life, it ain't no good life ]
WHO: ARAÑA and
WHERE: THE CIIIITYYYYYY.
WHEN: NIGHT.
WARNINGS: SPIDERS.
SUMMARY: HEY YEAH SO SHE PATROLS EVERY NIGHT WANNA FIGHT ABOUT IT? aka, open patrol log for anyone who wants CR with everyone's favorite Spider-Man knockoff.
FORMAT: whatever, but I seem to sprout para without trying.
It wasn't exactly t-shirt weather, but that didn't stop Anya from swinging from rooftops in the middle of the night in nothing but a tank and leggings. It got cold, sure, but she managed. If it ever got too cold, she summoned up the carapace and let the barrier of scaly blue exoskeleton warm her up. Patrolling would be easier---and more enjoyable---come summer, but she wasn't about to let herself go soft while waiting for the warm weather perched on the horizon.
Standing on the edge of an old brownstone's rooftop, she took a deep breath. Her sneakers were aligned with the dropoff, toes curled over the brick. She was about six stories up, she wagered, maybe seven.
Considering the fact that she'd found the tallest buildings in the City her first week there and climbed them with the express purpose of flinging herself off the top, six/seven stories was no big thing.

It is pretty creepy though.]

So they do the only reasonable thing and suddenly leap at the unsuspecting spider.]

Very good, Arana-
-You handled that a lot better than in our last sparring session-
-We think you're improving.

[ she straightens up as soon as the brothers come into view, pulling up on her goggles. She drops off the wall, gesticulating wildly ]
Have you heard of hello? Hello is great! I like hellos! I'll even accept a hola! It's not that difficult!
no subject
Shrug.
And look back to Arana, speaking in unison.]
Hello.
[This is them being sarcastic. It's really hard to tell.]
no subject
Fantastic. Next time aroud, how about you do it before you kick me in the head?
no subject
Ah, but you see-
-We didn't kick you in the head-
-We just came very close to it. Again, good job!
no subject
While I appreciate the readiness test, I'd rather not get kicked in the head by the invisible man times three.
You guys are so weird.
no subject
You were never in any real danger-
-especially as it seems your carapace functions independently of your conscious mind. Like a reflex=
[Patrick tilts his head.] -...We're not that weird, are we?
no subject
Because you go easy on me.
And it doesn't like ninjas.
Just a little bit. You just need to get out more. Out of spandex.
no subject
-No one likes ninjas-
-It's not spandex!
no subject
If it isn't spandex, what is it? It's shiny and clingy. Spandex is usually the cling-fabric of choice.
no subject
-yes-
-we are.
[And with that they all lunge at her once again. Looks like they took that "real spider" comment pretty seriously!]

Sparring with them is fun. It's mostly about being on the defensive, dodging and slipping and spinning out of their way. Instead of keeping this to the rooftop, she takes a running jump and launches herself off the edge. For a perfect second before she swings out her bolero, she's in free fall. ]
Then you'll have to catch me, suckers!

fewmany specialties. The Spiders leap after Anya, as synchronized as ever, and throw out their wrists. Three lines of sticky webbing shoot out at their intended quarry.]no subject

Capture confirmed-
-Bringing in the target.- [Sure enough, they start reeling her in.]
-You know, you'd think a real spider wouldn't get caught in a web.
no subject
You're right! They wouldn't.
no subject
Maybe next time-
-we should try disarmimg her first-
-Roger that.
[Embarrassment doesn't stop their attack for long. Kicking off the wall, they dive towards Anya, Michael first with the other two not far behind.]
no subject
Anya hits the wall, scrunches low, and waits for the first hit. If she can't outrun them and the webbing, there's always the option of beating them up.
Beating them up is always an option. ]

But tonight she was out and about, as it were. Although she was still mostly avoiding people, since she was several hundred feet above the ground, drifting along on her inky black wings. The cloud of black tears that always swirled around her feet was floating after her like a wake, evaporating after ten feet or so. She wasn't going in any particular direction, or traveling with any speed, just...wandering.
However, when she spotted the woman...swinging? Around the city, it caught her attention, and she couldn't help but raise a dark eyebrow in surprise. Her wings flapped several times as she changed direction, heading towards her.

Summer was around the corner and Suzi couldn't wait to get back into the pool, just thinking about how tired she could get swimming lap after lap to just drown out any other noise happening in life. She took a look at her surroundings, thinking about the latest incident of dragon sightings and missile attacks. She sighed. This was home now. At least people who cared were here and around.
She wasn't sure if she was hearing things but for a few seconds she thought she heard whistling through the air. But there wasn't anything around.
