True to her word Jade didn't rush right over. She waited close to ten minuets before appearing in the middle of the restaurant, accompanied by a crackle of energy and green flash. Nothing was harmed by her appearance...not unless someone had been standing right where she appeared.

"Helloooooo?" She was wearing her Witch of Space outfit and the skirt whirled around her as she spun to take in the interior of the restaurant. The white ears on her head were erect, twitching on occasion in the direction of various sounds.

Ned didn't see her colorful arrival, being that he was busy baking at present. He backs up until he can see out the window to the dining area and waves a kitchen towel at her, and a soft grin.

"Welcome, welcome. Sit wherever you like."

[dogwitch]

Jade waved back, beaming brightly at him before she settled into a chair. "It smells wonderful in here!" Her voice practically a chirrup.

"I'm a little behind schedule," he admitted, popping a hip into the door to keep the plate balanced on his hand as he made his way out into the dining room. "Can i get you some coffee? Or milk, perhaps." He slid the slice of triple berry down in front of her carefully, snapping the towel back over his shoulder as he stood back, drawing up into his full height.

Though he missed everyone at home very much, it was nice to have his own space again. Perhaps this was the universe giving him a little breathing room from Chuck, from Olive, from Randy Man. From life.

Jade inhaled deeply as he set the slice of pie before her. If she had a tail to go with those ears you could bet it would have been thumping loudly against the chair. "Milk would be fine," she said, smiling up at him.

She couldn't wait to dig in but the pie was still hot and the last thing she wanted to do was burn herself. "Is this what you do back home? Make pies?"

He 'hm'ed in confirmation, going and coming back with a fres h glass of milk in no time flat. "This Pie Hole is quite identical to... the original. I'm afraid this is only a knock-off, far from cheap though."

[dogwitch]

"That's neat. And I think that's the case for anyone building their business from home here. It'll never be like the original."

Jade decided it was probably safe to dig into the pie now, as long as she took it slow. So she took the fork and broke off a small bite, cooling it a bit first before she gave it a taste. She practically sunk back into her chair with a happy hum. "This is great! Better than great! You're like a pie wizard!" She gave a little giggle.

"Except without the magic," he reminded her, just a little pushy.

[dogwitch]

"You never know." She wagged her fork at him before turning back to the pie.

He's about to turn back into the kitchen and leave her to it but he sounds back around to face her, shaking his head gravely. "I know. Always, in fact. That these pies are 100% magic-free." Whatever you say, Ned. "Now that Zatanns isn't here, that is."

[dogwitch]

"That was rhetorical." She chews on another bite of pie before sipping her milk. "Did she make magic pie?"

Ned shrugged, following it up with a nod. "Everything she does is magic." Oh god backtrack backtrack! "That didn't come out right..."

Jade blinked at him as she slowly lowered her glass. There was a time when she might not have got what he meant but after spending so long around Davesprite and John... "Oh." She gave a small laugh. "It's okay! She's a magic user so I get what you mean."

He nodded, relieved to have dodged yet another bullet where Zatanna was concerned. "How is it?"

"Still amazing!" Even though the pie is going slow it's clear she's savouring every last bite.

He smiles big, with a nod. "I'll leave you to it then."

[dogwitch]

She smiled back with a nod before turning back to the slice.

Again he turns back to the kitchen... doesn't get very far, and turns back to face her.

"I'm Ned, if you need anything else. Don't hesitate..."

[dogwitch]

Jade gulped down some milk before speaking up, "Oh right! I'm Jade Harley." She gave a little laugh, feeling a bit rude for not having introduced herself sooner.

"It's my pleasure, Jade."

[dogwitch]

She smiles brightly before turning her attention back to the the still unfinished slice of pie.
