Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers..
WHO:
temporaltossed and
wasalways
WHERE: On the ground, in the air
WHEN: Sunday afternoon, right on the heels of THIS.
WARNINGS: None? Dead bodies?Log won't make progress until body retrieval details are hammered out with players involved. Done.
SUMMARY: Familial bonding over corpses, Rachel and Jean go to pick up a dead body.
FORMAT: Para!Phoenix
If there's one thing in her life that Rachel had learned it's that she hated death. She figured the feeling's not mutual, it must enjoy her company to an obscene degree to keep hanging around. On a good day, she feel's like death's plaything, on a bad day...
And tonight she hated it even more. Because tonight it wasn't her, it's Santo that's feeling the pain. Santo and the students that made Rikku one of them. Good kids, kids that didn't need anymore of this kind of pain in their lives.
God help the person that did this. If the X-Men ever find out... If she ever finds out...
She grimly opened the window to her apartment and stepped out, ready to head to DC and the grim work of bringing a fallen comrade home.

Did she have the Phoenix? Was it with her? Was she it anymore? And if not, why would this place tear that from her when she had worked so hard to accept it?
She had no idea how to test her limits, or how to assess what was in her or how to feel it out. A part of her, she worried, was doing this in a way to test her abilities, but she knew she shouldn't discredit herself that much. This was a student. This was a friend to Scott's and Emma's students. This was a young woman, and no one should meet a gruesome end like that.
Jean caught Rachel's eyes, mental rapport flickering on as she felt her emotions, and, by proxy, Santo's.

Not unlike Rachel.
She hovered in the air, the blue raptor flaring to life and reacting to her anger and she considered Jean for a moment.
"Aside from the obvious, everything okay?"
[ooc: has Jean seen Rachel's echo yet?]

"You?"
[ooc: No, actually! Not in canon/where I've taken her from, I'm pretty sure. ]

"But it'll get better." She hoped.
[ooc: I was actually thinking in the city.]
