Who:
pacifister and
meowminxed
When: 26 May. Just after this.
Where: Winner Corporation. Quatre's office.
Summary: Selina needs answers and Quatre is willing to give them.
Warnings/etc.: The truth.
-
The communicator hit the desk with a loud thud, the screen cracking in the process against the hard oak surface. The static of a broken connection could still be heard from the speakers before the power save option kicked in, disconnecting itself and going into hibernate. Quatre didn't move, hands clutching his knees tightly, throat sore with having to try so hard to keep his emotions in check.
He would have to keep doing so if Selina had understood what he'd been trying to say and after several minutes, he stood up, right hand on the desk and the other reaching for the carefully written note that had been left on his pillow, tucking it into the pocket of his jacket. Then, he waited. Selina was smart; she would understand, and she'd need the answer.
The important thing now would be if she was willing to keep it secret.

She made her way through the building, to the main office. That odd feeling she'd had earlier had told her that was the place to go.

"Catwoman," he greeted, upon realizing that she was in costume, not all that surprised that she would be cautious. "I'm sorry to make you come all the way here, but I'm not sure if my encryptions are strong enough to keep anything I tell you private. A few of us are speculating just how much the HIVE is reading on the network."

Damnit, he looked all of twelve. Sometimes this place made her feel old. Running into a kid in a comic book store was different than finding out one was the CEO of a company.

"Trowa's attempting to infiltrate the HIVE. I didn't know that was his plan when he went to go retrieve the disk, but I'm sure of it now. It doesn't make what he did any better - Rikku didn't have to die - but he hasn't sold us all out. He won't."
He felt more sure of himself as he spoken, his voice getting a big stronger, trying to make the point.
"I want as few people to know this as possible, so if you're going to pass along the information, please tell me to who. Trowa's died enough times because of my errors."

"He'll come back."

"I'm sorry, Winner." She frowned. "But your word isn't exactly good enough here."

There was nothing else for him to say. He had a gut feeling and his own knowledge of Trowa's past to go by and nothing else. Even the emotions he had been able to read before being shut out could be interpreted as Trowa having finally chosen the side Quatre had been trying to keep him from this entire time.
