WHO: Eve and Near
WHERE: Near's detective agency, which needs a new name.
WHEN: Tuesday evening
WARNINGS: Eve in a rather revealing dress.
SUMMARY: Near is shocked by what Eve has chosen to go hunting in.
FORMAT: Quicklog
Near: *opens the agency doors* Eve?
Eve: *Eve is sitting on a chair, reading a book. She glances up to him and smiles slightly.* Near. *Although she is wearing something completely different than what she used to.*
Near: *moves closer to her and stops dead* ...
Eve: *She cocks her head to the side slightly. Her voice is quite sarcastic.* Did you see a ghost?
Near: *small glare* No. What are you wearing?
Eve: *She snorts.* Clothes. I'm sad to see your observational skills have taken a plunge.
Near: *another glare* That is not what I meant. Is it something in this City's water supply that has altered peoples perceptions lately. *motions to her clothes* You are not wearing clothing suitable for a work environment.
Eve: *She gazes at him flatly.* I was about to go finish up another bounty hunt after this Near.
Near: *blinks* Dressed like that?
Eve: I'm not twelve years old anymore.
Near: *glare* I fail to see what you mean by that.
Eve: Stop glaring at me. *She shuts the book.* You're not my Mother.
Near: I am not trying to be your mother. I am trying to understand the purpose of wearing something, like.. *motions to her dress, he just might be blushing* that
Eve: It doesn't inhibit movement. *She is finding his barely there blush amusing.* Near, you're blushing.
Near: *twitch* I am not. *turns away and goes to his desk with his new puzzle on it*
Eve: You were. It was quite surprising coming from you.
Near: *dead pan* I was not blushing. *refrains from looking at her* I'd prefer you to wear more suitable clothing in the future.
Eve: Then why won't you look at me? *She gazes at him flatly.* Detectives don't wear pajamas either, Near.
Near: *looks down at self* These are not pajamas. *still isn't looking*
Eve: Yes they are. It is rude to not look at the person you are talking to
Near: *looks over finally* The shirt I am wearing happens to be a dress shirt. The pants are of a jean material. They are hardly pajamas.
Eve: ... That's what I use... Never mind.
Near: *glare* Finish your thought Eve.
Eve: Stop acting like my Mother. *Here have a very big pout.*
Near: I am not acting like your mother. *frowns* I... *sigh* Your outfit is making me uncomfortable. Happy?
Eve: *Face palm* You couldn't have said that from the start?
Near: I shouldn't have had too. *glare*
Eve: Well if you hadn't acted like a girl Sven... *Glaaare*
Near: *blink* What?
Eve: *Sighs* Near. Just. *Shakes head.*
Near: Just what? *blank stare*
Eve: It doesn't matter. *Her voice is a forced calm. She doesn't like to talk about her friends when she can't be with them.* It isn't like he's here anyways. *And she gets up obviously ready to leave.*
Near: .... *looks to the puzzle and then looks to her. His voice sounds slightly hurt, slightly annoyed, and slightly jealous* Where are you going?
Eve: To finish another bounty hunt. The store. Then I have to pick some things up at M's place. *She sighs softly and runs a hand through her hair.*
Near: You're going to see M.... like that? *there is lots of jealousy now*
Eve: Yes, I am. And I'll even have been stabbed a few times maybe. *She sighs. Boys make NO sense what so ever. To her it really is just an outfit.*
Near: I see... *looks back at the puzzle* You will be home tonight?
Eve: Yes. Why?
Near: Then I shall see you then. *is not upset that she is leaving*
Eve: What...? Do you not want me to come back?
Near: Near: Of course I want you to return. I did not mean that.
Eve: ...I'll wear something else. Just be careful.
Near: *nods* Give M my regards.
Eve: I think that would agitate him.
Near: I suppose it would. *shrugs*
Eve: *She frowns and walks over to him.* ...Did I upset you?
Near: *looks up* Not at all Eve.
Eve: *She has her doubts and tries to keep an indifferent look but fails in doing so. There is a slight amount of sadness in her voice.* Sven. He was sort of like a Father to me you know.
Near: *tilts his head* You don't speak about your family much Eve.
Eve: I never had one. I found while I was gone that I am a clone. Sven was just like a Father figure.
Near: *he smiles softly* I was an orphan Eve. If you talk about blood family, I'm afraid I have none. But those we are closest too become our family. *frowns* Even in that I seem to be alone.
Eve: *Eve frowns at him.* Stupid. You have me.
Near: *smiles* I guess I do. *frowns again* As family, I still do not see the point in wearing something that shows so much of yourself. What was wrong with your old look?
Eve: You haven't seen anything until you've seen Rinslet... I don't understand men.
Near: And I will never understand women.
Eve: *She smiles slightly then hugs him.* This time around I'll be stronger.
Near: I always thought you were strong Eve. *he smiles gently at her before pulling back* Now, don't you have a bounty to hunt?
Eve: Not nearly strong enough to be number one. *She pulls back as well and nods.* Yes.
Near: Then we are in the same boat. *smiles and rubs at his arm*
Eve: M is yours.
Near: *frowns* Yes, as much as I hate it. But he will never hear this Eve. *glares* Promise me, you will never tell him I said that.
Eve: Don't look at me like that to make a promise. And I know when things are not to be told.
Near: *nods* Thank you Eve. I'm sure I'd never hear the end of it if he ever heard that.
Eve: I suppose so. *She then smiles a bit.* I have to go now.
Near: Near: *nods* I'll be here.
Eve: *She nods and heads out the door. It's time to get busy.*
