"I can't wait to try the food, but before I forget..."
She removed a present she'd been hiding behind her back, offering it to James. It was wrapped in bright gold wrapping paper, the folds perfect.
"I figured I could get away with not waiting until Christmas since this is a Christmas party. I hope you like it."
